There are two guaranteed ways to stop traffic with a classic Camaro. You can take the traditional path and buy a highly optioned original car that's fit for a plastic bubble. Or, you can pick up an old road warrior, grab a bunch of vendor catalogs and build the nastiest resto-mod your money can buy. Take this clean F1 for example. With its brutal, 468 cubic inch V8, it'll whip most cars up and down the strip. With an upgraded drivetrain and tweaked suspension, it makes quick work of twisted backroads. And with a carefully customized interior, it features a perfect combination of vintage feel and modern technology. Forget some stuffy trailer queen that's constantly framed in little red ropes. And forget a me-too modern car that'll depreciate faster than its 5-year payoff. With this killer Super Sport, you can truly have your cake and eat it too!

BODYWORK/TRIM

Conducted by Classics Plus LTD of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, this awesome Camaro's 2012 ground-up restoration spared no expense massaging the car's rock-solid body in to better-than-new condition. When that body was smooth and aligned, black and silver 2-stage was accented with charcoal divider stripes. And today, this coupe rolls as a top-notch cruiser that's ready to turn heads and win trophies.

Thanks to their astute attention to detail, Classics Plus is highly renowned for their award-winning builds. And, like any first class custom, this Chevy features a nice mix of common traits that work extremely well together. At the front of the car, a shaved grille centers clear parking lamps between bright halogen headlights and a mirror-like bumper. Above that grille, a ZL-2 cowl induction hood leads the eye to like-new glass that's cleared by black wipers and framed in straight stainless trim. At the sides of that hood, sculpted fenders combine with a small bowtie mirror, traditional door handles and fresh rocker trim to detail the car's sophisticated profile. And at the back of those fenders, standard Camaro taillights illuminate a locking fuel cap, a D80 spoiler and a second mirrored bumper.

ENGINE

Lift this F1's glossy hood and you'll find a 468 cubic inch Chevrolet big block wedged inside a bright silver engine bay that's detailed all the way down to its smoothed and "Camaro SS" branded firewall. That brutal mill is founded on a Comp cam and .030 overbore. Power originates when wind whips from a small, color-keyed air cleaner in to a big Holley carburetor, which is anchored between braided hoses, polished stainless lines and a coated intake. That mixture flows to fully rebuilt heads, which hide Crane roller rockers under color-keyed valve covers. Spark is sequenced from an aftermarket points distributor to loomed MSD Super Conductor plug wires. Gases roar through large-diameter exhaust pipes via polished block hugger headers. Charge comes courtesy of a Billet Specialties Truetrac accessory drive. Large puller fans and a big aluminum radiator provide cooling. And details like a chrome brake booster, billet hood supports, billet fender braces and stainless cowl plates create clean and purposeful aesthetics.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

Park this Chevy on a lift and you'll find solid, overrestored floors that provide a fitting backdrop for fresh, first rate hardware. Behind the buff big block, a tough 700R4 4-speed twists power to a 12-bolt rear end that's fitted with an Auburn posi-traction differential and stout, 4.10 gears. Beneath that drivetrain, a completely rebuilt suspension employs tubular lower control arms power rack-and-pinion steering and sturdy subframe connectors. At the corners of that suspension, power-assisted calipers squeeze four drilled and slotted rotors. Charred dinosaurs float from the aforementioned headers in to a large-diameter exhaust system, which positions chambered Flowmaster mufflers behind an H-shaped crossover. Torque transitions to pavement through polished Billet Specialties wheels, which spin 205/50R17 Kumho Ecstas in front of 255/45R18 Kumho Ecstas. And items like a chrome oil pan, a chrome differential cover and a high quality FTI starter ensure a stellar combination of great looks and reliable performance.

INTERIOR

During this Camaro's thorough restoration, a simple and purposeful interior was equipped with a few carefully chosen amenities. Correct trim abounds, with Standard door panels and Standard bench and bucket seats framing a factory-spec, "Camaro SS" branded console. Durable floor mats protect cool, color-keyed carpet. Vintage Air climate control and a modern Kenwood head unit make good use of high quality Painless wiring. In front of the driver, a polished Grant steering wheel spins around Dakota Digital VHX gauges. And behind the passengers, a fully carpeted trunk hides the car's relocated battery.
