Chevrolet Other Pickups 1953 Description
This is my 1953 Chevy 3100. I bought the truck a little over a year ago as a project. This truck sat in a field in Missouri for at least 35 years waiting for it's chance at new life. Last registered in 1982! you can see the deceased previous owners name on the rear of the box on drivers side, I bought it from his daughter. truck is all together and ready to go .with only 100 miles sense completion (this will go up) if your looking for a cool Patina Truck, Hot Rod or Shop Truck this is it!
The body was in really good shape and needed minor repairs only. Both cab corners had a hole patched but they were not replaced. As you can see in the photos only the front half of the floor was replaced and a transmission hump was fabricated. Both running boards have rust through but are solid and you can stand on them. drivers side cab in front of door has a rust hole about the size of a half dollar. Dents, scratches, dings and wonderful Real patina that only nature can make!
Inner wheel wells came from a 1965 c10 and were narrowed to fit. Wood is Cherry finished with a walnut stain and clear coat
New windshield, side glass and wing windows. interior was prepped and painted, has insulation on floor covered by brown carpet. Seats are BRAND NEW Procar buckets. American shifter that is copy of a Lokar. New Dolphin gauges and speedo. New tilt column from CPP. Brake pedal and PB Booster mount also from CPP. All new painless wiring harness with new ignition and headlight switch. New headliner and door panels.
The original frame was utilized ( no back yard S10 stuff here!) CPP mustang II with power rack and pinion, drilled and slotted rotors with disc brakes. Rear is a CPP 4 link kit with coil over shocks mounted on a 1969 Camaro 10 bolt open rear with 3:08 gearing. Brand new fabricated drive shaft.
Wheels are polished Ridlers 18x8 and 18x9.5 with 245x40 and 275x45 tires
Fuel system is new from front to back with a rear mounted mustang tank, fuel lines and pump
New power booster, Master cylinder and lines front to rear
New aluminum radiator with mechanical and electric fan. Runs 180- 190 as it should
Engine is a 355 that is new from top to bottom! 30 over new bore with new pistons, resized rods and polished crank. new rings and bearings, new performance cam and lifters, double timing chain and gears, new oil pump, heads refinished with all new valves, seals and springs. Brand new roller rockers. Edelbrock aluminum intake with brand new Holley 600 and electric choke, hei distributer with new Accell wires plugs and super coil. new dual exhaust from headers back
Transmission is a rebuilt th350 with B&M shift kit and new Jegs 2100 stall convertor.
Truck Needs: intermediate emergency brake cable installed. Has original vacuum wiper motor that is unhooked and should be switched over to electric replacement.
