1970 Chevelle
First let me say that I am selling this car with no reserve, however I reserve the right to stop the auction at anytime for $14,800 in cash. If no one wishes to buy this car at that price it will go to the highest bidder.
Engine- I was told it is a 454. It appears to be all stock except for some bolt-ons. It starts right up and holds a good idle with good oil pressure. The cam has no lope to it and I think its is stock also. I just put on a new starter and battery cables-
Trans- Turbo 400 I believe it to be all stock also. It has a large converter that looks stock also. It is shifted be a BM ratchet shifter.
Rear End- is a 12 bolt posi track gear ration unknown but it is not real high. I jacked up the rear end and both wheels turn the same direction.
Some one in the past has spent money on this car hear are some of the newer parts. I am assuming they are eight years old as i was told the paint is 8 years old. front and rear door panels--carpet sill plates-arm rest pads and bases--outside door handles-lock set--headlight bezels-front turn signal lens--front marker lens--4 core radiator--radiator lines(factory bent)--power steering hoses--windshield,but it has some silicone around the molding and the rear molding does not fit very well on the left corner- outside window felts--8.8 Accell wires--water pump--digital gauges--exhaust--
Car needs the following and I am sure some small things not mentioned. Headliner-sail panels-package tray- weather strip between windows- chrome for back of hood-seat covers(they are Monte Carlo) Front springs they are small block-I think I have a set of correct springs for the car. Rear tires they both are bald.
To complete SS the car needs front disc brakes-rear sway bar and boxed arms as well as front heavy duty bar. The floors do have a couple of patches but solid. Rockers-doors look good-quarters are partials- trunk does have a little rot. Also I have a rear bumper a little better than the one on the car and it has an original SS pad. (not pictured) Look at the pic of the large chip behind the quarter panel, there is no rust just a large chip. There are several small imperfections in the paint but it has a nice shine to it. I also have a pretty nice replacement dash for the car as well as the a/c box that hangs on the firewall and a gas tank out of another 70 Chevelle SS.
Car came from TX. and was Fathom Blue top and bottom. Code 28 28.
NOTE-- I have sent the title into the state to have it put in my name so it is legal to sell. I expect it in about another 5 or 6 days. You will not be required to pay for the car until I have the title in hand. If you wish to hold it with the buy it now price. I will require a very small deposit. The car can be seen in Marion In. 1 hour north of Indy.
Then buy it now price includes both set of wheels- the aluminum ones on the car the set of 14 inch SS wheels-If you don't like the wheels I will deduct $400 per set. thanks
