Chevrolet Blazer 1971 Description

VERY NICE, SOLID FIRST GEN HUGGER ORANGE K5 BLAZER!

DON'T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE GRABS IT!

BUT IT NOW!

This Blazer belonged to a local guy that had been in the process of restoring it for the past 15 years. He had it painted, had the engine, transmission and transfer case rebuilt, along with a ton of other work and then let it sit. We just polished the paint and decided to see if someone would like it as is before we finish the restoration. This thing is rock solid and with a couple of weekends would make a real, real nice Blazer. This one won't last long. Don't wait!

Exterior:

This 1971 K5 Blazer is the very desirable Hugger Orange. It had a repaint years ago that came out great once we polished it. With some more work it would look even more amazing. It has an older set of wheels and tires (36") that were new when he was working on it years ago, but could stand to be replaced with a new set. It has the "Family" 6 point roll cage and it has a soft top installed like the last picture. There are two tops, both are in decent shape, but the windows are yellowed from the sun. You could have the windows replaced, or just the replacement top, like the owner had done once before. As you can see from the pictures, this truck is rock solid and very straight. Short of some small rust bubbles on the front quarter panel, some rust along the top cargo area where the top assembly sits and some filler that is coming loose from where the previous owner smoothed over the "Chevrolet" letters on the tailgate. The rockers, doors, floors, cargo area, tailgate, basically everything is rock solid!
Interior:
The floors were Rhino lined and look great. The Utility bucket seats are in good overall shape, but need to be recovered. The same goes for the rear bench seat. You can pick up a new set of OEM replacement seat covers for $249 for the buckets and $249 for the bench. The dashpad is toast and should be replaced and you can pick one up for $79. The stereo needs to be replaced, as the face plate was lost by the previous owner.
Mechanical:
This truck runs great. It starts right up without having to fuss with the gas pedal. The engine, transmission and transfer case were all rebuilt with maybe 2500 miles on them, if that. The exhaust was also updated, it has a set of heard that run into dual exhaust. It sounds great! It has a new gas tank, new brake booster and master cylinder, high volume water pump and upgraded three row radiator, a new trans cooler and all new wiring harness. It does, however need to the front axle to be regeared to match the upgraded rear end that was upgraded to a posi traction 4 11. It also requires the front driveshaft.
