Chevrolet Impala 1964 Description
Here's a rare chance to buy a very nice Impala SS at a reasonable price! One of our storage clients recently sold his home, nd has no room for this car any more. Present owner bought this car back in the mid 80's and has slowly but very carefully restored it over the years. There are still a few things to do, ut very few....A/C needs to be hooked up (components included), nd headliner needs to be replaced (material included). There are a few boxes of spare parts that are OEM, ome new and some correct used pieces. Original engine was a 283 V8, ut now it has a sweet running 327 V8. Powerglide is original, nd he said it has always leaked a tiny bit but it shifts fine. There's a folder full of receipts, framed portrait, ome car show trophies, nd manuals that are included with the sale. There is no title for this car due to it's age but we had to check clear to list the car.The Following Statement Is Directly To Me From the Owner:
Bill,
Car semi restored in ' 96; not frame off; have photos and receipts; dual purpose vehicle that you can drive and tinker on; frame is solid; all parts original or from donor cars; chrome & trim in excellent condition; Palomar red with fawn interior
Engine not original; rebuilt in '96; less than 5000 miles since; 600 CFM Edelbrock on stock manifold; 194 dbl humps; stock internals; stock ram horn exhausts; trans leaks some but works great;
Int work needed, uch as headliner, ash, arpet; have headliner material, pare dash and glove box; front seats are soft but are not ripped or torn; rear seat is perfect;
Body is straight with no bubbles or blisters; new shocks, prings, ushings, all joints etc installed in '96; new radiator and battery; frame is solid; trunk panels installed and have some surface rust; factory A/C (not working); PS, B; W/W tires have less then 5000 miles; have many more photos
Car in dry storage since purchased in '86. In process of moving and must sell
Thanks,
Joe
My Personal Opinion:
I have personally looked the car over and driven it. I have reviewed all of the documentation that the owner provided, now the owner personally, nd know the shop owner personally who did the body and paint. This is not a Barrett Jackson car, ut it's also not $75000.00. The car runs and drives very nicely, ody and paint work appears to have been done correctly, nd the trim is in nice condition. I have had the car up on a lift and the frame appears to be very solid. The center well in the trunk floor has been replaced at some point and a nice job done with that.A few odds and ends need doing in the interior, ut overall very presentable. If I owned the car, 'd install the A/C and headliner then drive it just the way it is. Having been a licensed Vermont auto dealer for 34 years, 'd would call this car an 8 out of 10...The car is for sale locally, nd I have to reserve the right to end this auction early but I will not end the auction if I have bids. I encourage you to ask questions before bidding. This car is 51 years old, nd does not belong to me. Although I believe that the information provided to me to be accurate, can not be held responsible. If you want to inspect the car before bidding, all me at 802-748-6373 and we can set up an appointment.
