At the end of World War II, M completely re-designed their pickup truck line. Called the Advance Design Series, he trucks were sleeker and slightly bigger than their predecessors. First available for sale in June 28, 947 and sold through March 25, 955, he trucks went through gradual changes in styling and options during that period.
This 1953 Chevrolet 3100 Step Side Pickup Truck is a nothing short of a work of art. The Metallic Green paint is immaculate and the same goes for the wood-slat bed and chrome finishes, ncluding the Chevy “steely” hubcaps. The interior is also pristine with a custom tan leather bench seat, oor panels, nd headliner; all three have matching leather stitching. Other noteworthy features include a freshly restored Inline 6-cylinder engine, mooth 3-on-the-tree manual transmission, oot starter, nd a split windshield (1953 was the last year for the split windshield).
This truck is reliable and willing to please at any car show. It runs and drives extremely well and every detail has been considered in the restoration. You simply cannot build this truck for the price offered here. And with the steady rise in collectability for these 50’s step side trucks, he price tag is more than reasonable.
