Chevrolet Blazer 1989 Description

Hi there. if you've decided to check out this listing and are in the market for a wicked rock crawling/mud slinging/beach cruising/all around "bad a**" rig then you're at the right place!!! This is a 1989 K/5 full size 4x4 blazer. I've always wanted one. and I've been a full time professional mechanic for the past ten years. so everything thats been done to this "Hoss" has been done correctly(because I've been building it for myself). The only reason it's going up for sale is because I just recently went through a divorce and need to sell off my toys. I'm also auctioning off my 1979 harley iron-head in a separate auction if you're in the market for a wicked custom bobber. Anyway about the truck. I guess ill start from the top and work my way down. The body and frame are straight. no major dents or dings except for one in the driver side door which you can see ip the pictures. You can buy a brand new door skin for around $100 from multiple places. or even cheaper if you find it right here on eBay. Interior is still original. nbsp;I hadn't quite made it that far with this project yet. But it's not in bad shape. I was going to LineX and diamond plate the whole inside if I would have kept her. All power door locks and windows work. I just replaced all of the door lock and window switches with doorman switches. as wells the driver and passenger door window regulators. The 3 led lights on the top in the rear of the truck are all high dollar 850 lumen lights. that work off a dash switch. That was to bring in the bait fish at night. and works like a charm! Two of the side windows in the removable hard top have cracks in them. but they are hard to see with the dark tint. I also installed an aftermarket tach below the dash so i could watch rpm's. The motor is a rebuilt small block 350 EFI. that runs really strong! Probably around 15. 00 miles on the rebuild. and I've been running nothing but royal purple in it for the past 5. 00. after break in of course. It has a K&N air filter. heavy gauge MSD wires. two heavy duty deep cycle AGM batteries with a battery isolator between them. I did that so i always have a fully charged battery to run my lights. power inverter. and whatever else you may want to run off accessory. Both batteries are charged by a high output alternator. 200 amp to be exact. The air conditioning blows nice and cold. i put a new compressor. orifice tube. and accumulator in it last summer. Its also been retrofitted to r-134 for ease and convenience of recharge. It has a new thermostat. 185 degree and it stays right there even in the south Texas heat. The headlights. (all 4). are high viz bulbs. Its got a true dual flow master exhaust. dumped out right in front of the rear tires. ground pounding and attached to heat wrapped and ceramic painted headman headers. New copper exhaust manifold gaskets and header to pipe gaskets. Its got a brand new rebuilt (around 1000 miles on it) TH-350 transmission. with a beefy 700-r4 low/reverse sprag. a B&M rebuild kit with a B&M shift kit installed. I put a brand new pump on the transmission as well as a brand new low stall torque converter. It also has a high capacity oil sump (deep pan) with an internal filter extension on it. I've been running "trick shift" ATF in it since the rebuild. I added an aftermarket transmission cooler up front. and all the transmission lines are braided stainless with A/N fittings. An advanced adapters tail shaft and adapter to adapt it to its rebuilt NP-241c transfer case(including new chain). The rear end has new bearings and oil seals. as well as all new pinion seals. nbsp;bearings. nd races from when i put in the brand new 4:56 gears in it. Yes. you read that right. This thing is a beast!!! It's not a complete dog on the highway even with that ratio. I usually cruise the highway at around 70mph pulling around 3200rpm. I haven't had a chance to put the front gears in it yet. but have them brand new in the box with the master bearing and seal kit and will be in the back seat of the truck when it arrives in your driveway. Along with that will be new u-joints. and every ball joint. seal. nbsp;bearing. race. nd tie rod end necessary to completely rebuild the front end! All new in their factory boxes! Oh yeah. and the front driveshaft since it isn't on the truck right now due to not having the front ring and pinion installed yet. The truck has a true 4" lift with blocks in the rear. and all new u-bolts. All 4 shocks and 1 steering stabilizer are skyjacker. and were put on 2 years ago with very little mileage on them (as this was my toy and not my daily driver). This year model blazer actually had dual from shocks. but someone throughout the years stole one of the mounting brackets. No biggie. they bolt on. so you could raid one at the junk yard or order one if you want to run that setup. This thing fires right up. and runs very strong. plus it sounds wicked! All that goodness is sitting on 17" aluminum Dick Cepek rims wrapped in 35" Micky Thompson's. I'm even going to throw in the original 700-r4 transmission that I pulled out of it when I bought it. It. fully disassembled. but complete except for the low/reverse sprag that I stole to build up the bullet proof TH-350 thats in it now. I know all this probably sounds too good to be true. but like i said. i didn't buy this to flip it. I was building the ultimate hunting/fishing rig for myself. But times are tough. and i need the money. so my loss is DEFINITELY your gain on this deal. I'll be throwing in the Haynes manual for it too. And to trip you out even more. nbsp;I'm running this auction with no reserve! So let the bidding begin. and happy bidding! I will be watching this auction closely. so feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Or if you want specific pics. just let me know and ill shoot them to you as soon as I can. THANKS!
