Chevrolet Camaro 1969 Description
You are looking at a genuine, orwood plant produced Z/28. The car was restored in 2005. During the restoration, he motor was removed and rebuilt to factory specifications. I'm TOLD it is the original motor, ut it was decked during the rebuild. No way to tell for sure as the VIN stampings were wiped when it was decked. I had the car evaluated 2 weeks ago. It is a DZ block 302, ith the correct "camel hump" heads, orrect intake, orrect exhaust manifolds, nd correct Holleycarburetor. The carburetor stamp shows it as a DZ specific carb with vacuum secondaries.Thecarburetoralso supports a February build (see picture). The cowl tag shows it was scheduled for production the 4th week of February 1969. The block stamping supports that, howing a Flint, I 02/19/1969 build (see picture). The transmission is the correct Muncy M21, ut may not be original to the car. Our research shows it was built in 1970. The rear end is the original 3.73 Z/28 rear to the car. The drivetrain is extremely solid, ith no leaks or rattles. The car drives beautifully. All new bushings, nd suspension parts. Body mounts appear as new.The interior is well above average and well restored. I would rate it as much nicer than driver quality, ut not concourse. The seats have all been reupholstered, he center console is in gorgeous condition and the carpet appears as new. All gauges operate. The clock does not work. I haven't diagnosed it.
Outside is beautiful with no rust to be found and no paint bubbling. A well done restoration. All panels are straight aside from the usual "knuckle" marks around the door handles. The gaps are all spot on. The passenger door could use a 1/16" to 1/8" adustment at the rear where the striker and door mechanism line up. I may get to that before the sale ends. The chrome presents as new. Important to note that the previous owner, hen restoring the car chose to install the X33 chrome drip rails and chrome wheel lips for appearance purposes. The car was originally an X77 car, hich means those parts would not have been there. They are easily removed.
