Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1961 Description
Up for sale is my 1961 Belair. Cool old school hotrod. I found this in a storage shed, it had been parked since 1993. The owner didn't know much about it, here's what I have found and done.
Engine is a 327. Crane gold tip rockers, comp cams guide plates, hardened pushrods. ARP head studs. SFI damper and flexplate (Expired). Air gap intake, Holley 750 and side exit headers
Trans is a full manual turbo 350 converter stalls around 2500
Rearend is stock dropout with a posi.
I rebuilt the carb and got it running, it runs great. Has solid lifters and a mildly lopey cam.
I installed new 2 1/2 dual exhaust with turbo mufflers, side exit. It sounds great and runs really well.
It had zero interior when I got it, so I installed a complete new interior including door panels, kick panels, headliner, package tray and new molded carpet.
The seats are out of a 96 crown vic police car. I went with those because they are low back, non power and wider than a F body bucket. They fit excellent and look like they belong in it. The rear seat upper half is the crown vic upholstery over the stock springs. The lower is the crown vic lower. I have the stock lower springs that go with the car. The interior looks great in it. Navy vinyl with dark blue carpet kit.
I put new wheels on it, 15x7 front with 1/2 tread 235/65/15's. Rears are 15x8 with new 275/65/15's.
The body needs some attention, It will need both lower quarters, fender patches and some floor work. I included pictures of the floors, the quarters are full of filler on the bottoms and over the wheel wells. The stainless trim is all there but dinged up. The passenger door trim is missing about 6" off the front of it. It will need a windshield it's cracked. The bumpers and grill are very nice.
Brakes work great, converted over to dual piston master cylinder.
The electrical leaves a lot to be desired, I would be willing to instal a complete new harness for the cost of a harness. 12 circuit runs just under $200.00. THIS WOULD BE IN ADDITION TO PURCHASE PRICE IF YOU WANT IT DONE.
I have been driving it just as it is, cool old hotrod vibe to it and its fun to drive. I would keep it and drive it but I have a daughters wedding to pay for
All offers and other vehiclesconsidered make me an offer, the worst I can do is say no!
