Chevrolet Corvette 1969 Description

Barn Find 1969 Baldwin Motion Equipped Corvette L71 427/435HP Coupe. This is a very interesting car with history to be found. The car started as a Fathom Green L71 that was modified (when new) with Baldwin Motion parts front to back. The car was built as a street racer in the Bronx (notice the Poe's Garage sticker on the windshield) and was put away in a Long Island barn only miles from Motion Performance around 1975.Given this fact and the condition of the car I believe the low mileage (17,020) to be accurate. It's difficult to prove whether or not any car was built by Motion, but given the circumstances I wouldn't be surprised if they did build this car or at least worked on it. Motion parts include the distinctive L88/Stinger hood (with Motion "SS 427" badging), relocated headlights, reversed gills, front & rear wheel flares, Manta Ray rear window & spoiler, Ford sport mirrors, pop-open gas cap, Dupree electric fuel pumps, and Fly Eye air cleaner. The full diamond pleat interior is also very similar to other Motion cars I have seen. The original 427 was removed when the car was parked and replaced with a 350. I do not have the original engine. The original 4spd transmission is present, along with a Hurst shifter and scattershield. The engine is currently not running. Body is very good overall with just a few small cracks in typical places around the nose and lower valance. The paint job you see was done in the early 70's before the car was put away. Front windshield is cracked, side windows are good, rear window is plexiglass. Interior is in excellent condition.Diamond pleat everything with no rips or tears whatsoever. Original L71 console plaque andoriginal big block numbered gas tank (damaged). The tail lights arefrom a 1969 Dodge Charger. The chassis is in very good condition overall with no rust. Excellent frame and body mounts front to back. There is no title, car is sold on a Connecticut bill of sale only.CT does not require a title, however if your state does there are several classic car titling companies which will provide you with one for a reasonable fee. Car is located in Haddam, CT and is available forviewing. Message or call 860-873-1092 (office), 860-345-2100 (shop) or 860-575-8998 (cell).
