I bought this car from its original owner in Southern California 4 years ago. It had not been driven since 1990. I fitted new plugs, ires, tarter, il pan, ick up pipe, ew headlamps, ebuilt the carburetor, itted new tires. New rear brakes and converted to power brakes with front discs and new brake lines. A new distributor with electronic ignition. I did all of this on the previous owners driveway and then I drove it 2,000 miles back home with no issues. It cruised happily at 75 mph and returned 18 mpg. It hasn`t moved since I got it home and I`m just never going to have the time to get it finished. I started it today to take the photo`s and it fired right up with a boost and drove up and down the driveway just fine.
The body is incredibly solid. The floor pans are like new with no rust as are the rockers. It has been hit in the drivers side rear quarter which is why it was taken off the road in 1990 but it should be an easy repair. All glass is good and the lights all work.
The interior is complete minus the headlining and carpet because I removed them. The seats will need re-trimming but are usable. It will also need a dash pad due to the original one being cracked. The speedometer and fuel gauge work. The door panels are pretty good. I have fitted sound deadening to the floor and roof.
I have the original rims and hub caps to go with the car along with a load of other bits that are all in the trunk.
Overall a good solid Impala fastback that runs and drives. If you are mechanically minded you could drive it home, drove it 2,000 miles across country in its present condition.
