For sale in our Chicago showroom is a scarce 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 Factory 4-Speed. When it comes to true American Muscle Cars the name Chevelle has always stood out and for good reason. Arguably this is one of the most attractive styles with those slick lines, absence of gaudy chrome and trim and a tidy front and rear fascia. This particular example is finished in the correct E-Code shade of Royal Mist Metallic top and bottom with black interior and trim which is phenomenal on the eyes.

Performance is key with any muscle car and heritage is also important when it comes to the investment side of cars and this one has a lot going for it. The original 396 was inspected and Dyno tested and then safely tucked away and replaced with a rebuilt 454 Cubic Inch V8. The original engine is included and you will not have to worry about driving this vehicle and sacrificing it's numbers-matching value. At the time this vehicle was purchased in 2002 before undergoing a full show-quality restoration the car was believed to have only 45,500 actual miles. A complete restoration was started including removing the frame and chassis components to be sandblasted and powdercoated. The exterior shell was then stripped to bare metal and any imperfections or signs of rust or filler were replaced with metal and finished off with high quality paint and all chrome/brightwork being restored.

On the interior you will see a correct reconditioning of the dash, bucket seats and carpeting to bring this to a show level. The original radio was replaced with an electronic but period-looking AM/FM Stereo with input jack and dual amps in the trunk for all of your favorite tunes. The Cue-ball shifter is ready for you to take hold and get this big-block classic up to speed while you impress your friends and neighbors.
