The 1980 Z28 also offers unique style upper and lower front grill and smaller revised graphics on its lower-door decals. The side scoops were also changed from a louvered design to a flatter one with a single opening. condition Exterior The Black exterior is in fantastic driver condition. As one can see in the photos. the paint has a nice gloss. beautiful shine. and smooth finish. The aftermarket cowl induction hood looks excellent on the car and gives this massive engine better cool air induction. Please note that this is a steel hood. not some cheap or flimsy fiberglass unit. The headlamps are upgraded Halogen units with upgraded clear housings that really improver and modernize the front end of the car. As one can see in the many photos of the underside this car is very solid. We have taken specific photos of the quarters. rockers. and other areas most prone to rust. The Jegs Weld style wheels show no signs of curb rash and shine nicely. There are no major imperfections that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There are some light scratches. small bubbles. and other minor imperfections around the car that were too faint to show up in photos. but nothing that is really noticeable from about a five or ten feet away. The weather stripping and window sweeps are in good condition. The T-Tops are in good shape and do not rattle when driving down the road. The trunk is very clean and solid. The staggered tires have about 80% tread left. Interior The Carmine red deluxe vinyl interior of this Z28 looks great. The original seat covers are in great shape for thier age with no seam splits; they look in person just as they do in the photos and video. The carpet is in very nice condition with no major stains. rips. or holes. The door panels look great with no cracks or splits. and both door pulls are solid and in tact. Both seat belts operate well and retract correctly. which is a very common problem on GM cars from this era and a small detail many buyers do not check. The dash is in good shape with no warping though there are a few small cracks. which are visible in the photos. The headliner was just replaced and is in excellent condition. The package tray appears to be original and shows some signs of age. A two shaft digital Clarion am/fm Cassette Stereo resides in the original dash and works and sounds excellent. Most importantly. this dash was not cut for radio installation. A pair of 6x9 speakers are in the factory rear tray position. The power windows work as they should. but the horn is not working and the AC and heat controls are not working as well. All interior plastics look very nice and have good factory color. texture. and grain pattern. There is no aroma of cigarette smoke whatsoever. These Camaro interiors from this era are not know to wear well over the years and the nice condition of this largely original interior is a good sign of the care this car has received throughout its life. Mechanical This Camaro seems to be in good mechanical condition; the way this car runs and drives are some of its strongest attributes. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 60mph. braking to stoplight. and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts well. runs great. there are no strange vibrations. and the car performs quite nice overall. The big block engine runs very strong but is also street friendly and easy to drive. You will surely get noticed and get plenty of attention around town in this beautiful Z28. From just a glance it's easy to realize what this Camaro is all about ATTITUDE and plenty of it. This Camaro is an exceptional driver that feels great on the road. It is quick off the line and feels like it has a 4. 11 rear end so it does get wound up on the highway. There is no smoke when starting or driving the car. It starts right away every time. idles well. and runs excellent. The brakes are responsive and do not pull to one side or the other. The engine is very clean and beautifully detailed as one can see from the photos. The black touches on the air cleaner and valve covers along with the chrome accents really make the engine compartment pop and would be the hit of any cruise-in. The odometer. tachometer. aftermarket oil pressure gauge. fuel. and battery gauges all work as they should. The speedometer works. but the needle gets sticky at about 35 mph. There is an occasionally pop sound from the clutch mechanism. Several bolt-ons were added to increase performance such as headers. Holley double pumper carb. . MSD ignition and HEI distributor. Edelbrock intake. Edelbrock fuel pump. and a Chrome alternator. etc. A true dual exhaust was also recently added with Flowmaster 40 mufflers and "H" pipe which gives this Camaro a healthy exhaust note at idle and cruising speeds. Not enough can be said as to how much of a thrill it is to drive this car especially on a nice day with the T-tops out rowing through the gears. Overall Condition Overall. this 1980 Z28 is in awesome driver condition. It is a great value and priced to sell. The big block engine and 4-speed transmission. and T-Tops make this camaro especially desireable. important. and difficult to duplicate. This car turns heads and gets tons of attention wherever it goes. The value of these second generation "F-Body" cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid investments for a collector or the average enthusiast. Cars like this are the Barrett Jackson and Mecum stars of the future. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
