Power Brakes. Power Steering. Restoration Photos SELLER REMARKS This 1968 Camaro convertible is summer fun done right. A very impressive build in every possible way. it's beautiful to look at and with the right modifications. it's downright amazing to drive. It may look like a show car. but with the hardware under the skin. you're going to have a hard time staying out of the driver's seat. Taken apart and rebuilt from the sheetmetal on up. this gorgeous Camaro is even better in person than it is in photos. and that's no small achievement. Paint this shiny doesn't happen by accident. so hundreds of hours were spent sanding. smoothing. and aligning the panels before even a drop went on. The color itself is pretty close to the factory's Cordovan Maroon and it has a subtle twist in the form of a silver SS stripe around the nose. Instead of over-dressing the car. it instead keeps its factory hood with chrome inserts and a ducktail spoiler and lets the expert workmanship speak for itself. At this point. it doesn't really matter whether it is an original SS. but SS badges have been installed in all the usual spots. although once again there's a custom touch with a silver grille instead of the usual black. Nice chrome bumpers highlight the burgundy paint and all the stainless was either polished or replaced when the car went back together. If you're building a Camaro. you really can't go wrong with black and white houndstooth upholstery. and in a convertible. the fabric seat covers are a welcome upgrade from sticky. hot vinyl. Virtually everything inside this car is new. including the seat covers. carpets. custom door panels with houndstooth inserts. and a gorgeous woodgrained steering wheel that highlights the burgundy paint. The dash was custom-painted silver-gray and burgundy to work with not only the bodywork. but the stunning engine bay and chassis. but we'll get to that stuff in a little bit. Right now. you should also know about the 4-speed manual gearbox. the factory-style console gauges. and the powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system with remote. The white convertible top is brand new and fits so well that it feels wrong to put it down and wrinkle it. but don't worry. the car also comes with a second brand new top in gray to match the stripes. just in case. The trunk is neatly carpeted so it helps control noise and heat a little better than the original vinyl mats. For power. there's a 350 cubic inch V8 which features an . 030 overbore. aluminum heads. Edelbrock carb and intake. and an upgraded cam that gives it an awesome idle and plenty of mid-range punch. But perhaps more significant than the engine's specs is the high-tech look of the engine bay itself. which was carefully disassembled and each component was painted or polished. right down to the windshield wiper motor. Plenty of billet aluminum and chrome adds some sparkle and the overall look is modern and clean. Long-tube headers feed a custom dual exhaust system give it a great sound and the undercarriage was painted to match the engine bay. so you should probably figure out a way to show it off. because it looks fantastic. Cool 17-inch chrome wheels have a traditional look and wear modern 225/45/17 front and 255/45/17 rear performance radials. With build costs exceeding $30. 00 and requiring more than two and a half years. this incredible Camaro is ready to drive or show at just about any level.
