1954 Chevrolet Corvette * True Barn Find 1954 54 Chevrolet Chevy Corvette C1 2-Door Convertible This Corvette has been stored in a barn for 42 years. A true barn find.After putting in some gas, he engine started immediately, nd it runs really strong. It is very dry underneath; we could not find any leaks anywhere. Because the engine ran so well, e wanted to road test it to see how the rest of the car functioned. We replaced the wheel cylinder, rake shoes, aster cylinder, nd one brake line. The car seems to handle really well, he transmission shifts properly, nd the tachometer works. The previous owner stated that it was a California car and was never driven in a Midwestern winter. The frame is in excellent condition. It appears to be rust free except for surface rust (please see pictures). And we can’t find any damage to the body. In addition to the normal molding, here is an additional strip underneath that appears to be professionally crafted and installed. This car would make an excellent restoration project. Because it was stored in a barn for such a long time, t was subject to the critters that live there. The convertible top has a large tear on the passenger side. The seats are both there, owever the passenger seat upholstery has been shredded. The carpeting was not salvageable. Also included: Both windows, hevrolet side insignias, nd the spare tire. However, he car is missing hubcaps, he ignition shielding, asher pump and jar, nd the jack. The numbers appear to all be correct. You are welcome to check them out for yourself to confirm.
