Chevrolet Camaro 1969 Description

I purchased this Camaro on EBAY 6 months ago for $12,000. Since then I have put an additional $6,000 in new parts and repairs. When I got the car it had a crate 350, ebuilt turbo 350 and 10 bolt posi rear-end with 3.73 gears. I intended to drive the car while I was restoring it. Unfortunately, n the way to the exhaust shop an oil line came off and the engine lost all oil and spun a bearing (I think). The engine now won't start or turn over. Probably can be fixed (turn the crank, ew bearings etc.), ut may need a new short block. I am out of money and didn't anticipate losing the engine like this. I am just going to sell the car, y loss is your gain. I will try to accurately describe the car so there is no surprises.

The good:

1) New complete braking system, ront disks, ear drums, ew brake lines, ew power brakes, ront to rear.

2) New tilt steering column ($400) installed along with new stock type steering wheel $250 (wood grain) to match dash.

3) New power steering pump ($130) and lines installed, ll new engine pulleys ($50), ew alternator ($100, ew radiator ($350), ew fan shroud and new clutch fan ($50), hermostat, elts and hoses.

4) New fuel tank with straps, ew fuel sending unit, ew 3/8 fuel line.

5) Brand new in box stock type dual exhaust system $350 (not yet installed). The existing exhaust is a turn down system off of the stock exhaust manifolds, retty loud. I wanted a quieter system.

6) Brand new carpet installed, ew dash pad $350 (not yet installed).

7) Rear quarters, runk, ear frame rails were redone years ago(when the car was repainted)and are in good condition. Doors open and close very good, ine up perfectly with quarters and front fenders.

8) New front springs and shocks installed, ew rear multi-leaf springs and shocks installed.

9) Four brand new 235/60/15 BF Goodrich radial T/A's ($550) installed on very nice rally rims, ood trim and caps.

10) Transmission was recently rebuilt, had it serviced. I also had rear end serviced with new differential fluid. Both work perfectly. Car drives straight down the road, ides great, teers great, rakes perfect etc. Good daily driver until the engine blew up.

What the car still needs:

1) Engine isn't running like I mentioned before, ut is complete crate 350, ot original engine. Car originally came with a 6 cylinder automatic on the column.

2) Car was repainted dark blue with white racing stripes years ago, ot a good paint job (50 footer). I would rate it 4.0/10.0. You could drive as is, ut I was planning on repainting. The car was originally lime green, ou can still see the original color under the trunk lid. Paint is bubbling around the rear window on top and bottom (see close up pictures), inor surface rust, don't think any sheetmetal needs to be replaced.

3) Interior has new carpet and dash pad, he front seats need to be recovered, he deluxe door panels are original and need to be replaced, he headliner is original and needs to be replaced, eeds rear speaker panel as well. The woodgrain dash is in good shape, he speedo works, he gas gauge works and also has the tick/tack clock. No console, as a B&M shifter on the floor. I would put in a stock console with horseshoe shifter if it were me.

4) Car is pretty straight, inor surface rust in a few areas (around trunk lid, ear window, ront fender extension etc). The roof is perfect, uarters, runk, oors etc. are all perfect and just need new paint. I was going to replace the flat hood with a 2" cowl hood. I think all the existing sheetmetal can be reused, he only think that really needs to be replaced is the front passenger fender where there is rust on the extension. There is one patch panel on the passenger floor, an leave as is or replace the one side floor if you want a perfect car.

5) Front subframe is original and has grime and surface rust. I was planning on pulling and sandblasting and repainting, idn't get around to it.

6) Original front windshield is busted, have new glass (not installed yet), also purchased new clips to hold the aluminum trim. The trim is removed, as getting ready to have the windshield installed. The side glass is all good, he door windows go up and down, he small rear windows you have to hold with your hand when they go up and down. I would adjust and lube all the side windows when the door panels are replaced. The rear glass isn't broken but has a weird cloudy spot on it, was going to polish it or replace at the same time the front windshield is replaced.

Overall a good car, hat really should be restored, ost of the mechanical and body is good. Just needs all the cosmetic stuff listed above. This is your opportunity to get a decent Camaro that is very close to a daily driver at a very affordable price.

I wanted to add a couple of items. I have another used rear bumper that will be included, s in better shape than the one on the car.

Also, hen I purchased the car it came out of New York, o the car is a North East car with a little more rust than a Southern or dry climate car on the bottom of front subframe and the bottom of the car. Just trying to be completely honest about the car. If you want a car to do a rotisserie restoration, his might not be the best car and would take a little more work to make perfect. However, f you want a good driving, airly inexpensive car that you can drive and enjoy. This would be a good car, hat will clean up really good. I also never titled the car or got plates in Texas, he car has been in a couple of shops most of the time I've owned it getting everything operating correctly. The car is currently registered in New York and I have the signed registration from the previous owner who I purchased it from on EBAY. New York didn't have a title for pre-70's car, wnership is transferred by signing over the registration form.

I'll add a few more pictures of the trunk, nd undercarriage so you can get a better idea of the condition of the car. I want whoever buys it to get exactly what they are looking for. I don't have 100% positive feedback since 1998 for nothing.
