Chevrolet Other Pickups 1954 Description
1954 Chevy 3100 ½ ton Up for sale is my 1954 Chevy 3100 Truck. I purchased this truck from the son of the original owner in an estate sale. This is an original farm truck and was well taken care of. The frame on this truck is in very good and clean condition. The paint on the truck is good to fair. The man I bought the truck from said he and his dad repainted the truck about 10 + years ago. The odometer on the truck shows 76000 + mikes and will show more as I use the truck periodically in good weather. Mechanical: The truck has a current Pennsylvania state inspection sticker on it good through February 2016. It runs and drives good. It has a stock 235cid. inline six cylinder engine with a 3 on the tree manual transmission. The truck has a new master cylinder. 4 new wheel cylinders. and new brake shoes on all four wheels. I just put a new turn signal unit on the truck last fall. converted from 6 to 12 volts. I replaced the vacuum wipers with a two speed electric unit and added new heater core and fan. The heater blows warm. All of the lights work. all of the gauges in the dash work and light up. I am not afraid to get in this truck and drive it anywhere Body: The body on this truck is solid. original and straight. The truck does have an amateur paint job. but it is still a good looking truck. That being said. the truck being 61 years old although in good shape for its’ age was used over the years and there are some scratches. chips. nicks and minor dents here or there. but there is no rust on the body. The cab corners are excellent and the door bottoms are clean and solid. The wood in the bed appears to be the original wood and is still good and solid. The chrome on the truck is original 1954 chrome. the emblems on the hood and the door handles are pitted and showing there age but solid and presentable for 61 years of use. This is a good looking truck that shows well. runs fine and is fun to drive. not perfect but more than presentable. The nice thing about this truck is that in its current condition. I can take it anywhere I want to go. have fun with it. let other people see it and touch it and not be afraid of them ruining it. Interior: The interior of this truck looks to be all original. The dash is uncut. The radio delete plate is missing. The seat is in good shape with no tears but a few snags at the passenger end. All the gauges in the dashboard light up and work. The floor is solid and clean with no rust concerns. All the glass is good. no cracks. The vent windows open and close. but the passenger side vent widow won’t stay open all of the way. it wants to rotate and close part way when you go down the road. The cowl vent opens and works to let cool air in. Overall. this is a good running and driving truck. I currently have more projects and vehicles than I need or have space for. I have had fun with this truck for the past three years. and it is time to move on to another project. If you have any questions. please feel free to ask them. All emails will be answered and all phone messages will be returned in the evening after work. Call Mike (412) 445-0987
