Chevrolet Impala 1967 Description

1967 Impala SS 396 Convertible. This was a one family owner car from 1967 until May 2013. Built at the Los Angeles CA assembly plant and sold new at O’Toole Motor Company of Corvallis. OR and assigned to the first owner 2-15-67 (see Protect-O-Plate/business card photo). Still has the original 1967 license plates issued with the car (see photo of original title). The original owner (in his 80’s) stated “if you take care of something. it will last forever. ” Car has always been garaged and cherished. and it shows. It spent most of its life in dry desert-like Eastern Oregon (Pendleton). and was never subjected to road salt. There are tons of receipts showing a continuous life in Oregon. It is a matching number 396/325 hp car with 106. 59 original miles. Factory Marina Blue with bright blue bucket seat interior with console. floor mounted automatic shifter. power steering and brakes. accessory running lights. bumper guards. original AM radio (works). and original clock (works). Over the years the most of the front suspension. motor. and transmission have been rebuilt (have receipts). In 2007 the owner hit a deer. damaging the right fender and grille. The car was delivered to a family body shop. and the car received a replacement fender. NOS grille. a complete two stage repaint in original color. new top. interior. and carpet (have receipts). I would consider the paint show quality. only now with a very few chips from use. (One noticeable chip at top of left quarter. see photo with my pinky). Since I have owned the car I have added new BFG radial redline tires. and a Pertronix Ignitor system with matching coil. In December I had a compression check and tune up to professionally evaluate the motor. and compression ranged from 135-145 pounds (have receipt). The speedo had become “jumpy” and the transmission drive gear was replaced. This car runs and drives great. everything works – except the speedometer (again). I have a replacement that will go with the car. If you are looking for that super-preserved survivor car that was never rusted or abused – this is it.
