Chevrolet Camaro 1969 Description
1969 Camaro ZL1 TributeAll Aluminum 427 built with all GM Performance parts5 Speed Tremec TKO TransmissionFull Nut and Bolt Rotisserie RestorationLess than 500 miles on the new buildThis is a rare opportunity to own a piece of American Muscle Car History. This 1969 Camaro started life as a factory SS Big Block 396 car with disc brakes and 12 bolt posi rearend, hen the current owner found the car he set out to recreate one of the most powerful factory muscle cars ever built. The ZL1 Camaro was originally built for racing with its all aluminum 427 engine and 4 speed transmission. The Factory ZL1 Camaros are very rare and fetch hundreds of thousands of dollars if you can find one. This car offers all the creature comforts of a modern restomod and retains all the looks and horsepower of the original car. The car underwent a 2 year rotisserie restoration with no expense spared, rofessionally built and assembled. The restoration cost was over 100K to complete this beautiful car. I am selling this car for a customer and will represent is as honestly as possible and will post many pictures and videos to go along with it so that you know what you are bidding on. However, e always recommend viewing the car in person or having it inspected by a professional on a purchase this large. I also make myself available by phone at 972-496-3278 to discuss the car so that you know who you are dealing with and what you are buying. We build high end muscle cars at my shop, rubbs Motorsports in Garland, exas so we are very familiar with quality builds and restoration work. We did not build this car but I have personally tuned the car and inspected it as well as driven it. This car performs as it should, uns great, ounds mean, ill roast the tires through 3 of the 5 gears, tarts, tops, teers exactly as it should. Please feel free to make offers on the car, lso please note that after close of auction the car must be paid for in full within 7 days. Also, lease do not bid unless you have all funds to purchase the car.
Body
Upon disassembly, he body was professionally blasted to remove all original paint and treated with Epoxy Primer. Any rust that was found was removed completely and replaced with quality replacement panels and or patch panels. All repairs were done by a restoration shop. The gaps were fitted to factory specs, hey are not tight show car gaps but more of what the car had when originally built at GM. The paint and bodywork however far surpass GM standards, he Marina Blue shines like a show car paint job with brilliant color and pearl in the paint. This paint job is done in basecoat clearcoat, nd the clear has been wetsanded and buffed to a slick finish. I would put the paint and body work at a 9.5 out of 10 and I never rate a car at 10. No scratches, ings, ents or issues, o shrinkback that I've seen, o bubbles, r anything popping up that you would normally see. The paint is a few years old and it is holding up very well, tored inside under cover since painted. All body panels shut and latch as they should, mooth operation, ood fit and finish throughout. All emblems are new, he stainless fits good around the windows, he grill is new and looks good, umpers are new and or rechromed, hey fit well and look correct. All lights, ipers, orn, tc. work as they should. This is a factory Marina Blue Car.
Interior
Factory white interior as it came from the factory, ll seats were restored, ew pads, ew covers, hey look great. Headliner and all trim inside is new or restored. The dash is in great shape, auges work properly. There are aftermarket gauges from Auto Meter that monitor oil pressure and water temp so you know exactly where the motor is running. Tilt column with new steering wheel makes for a comfortable ride. The dash is fitted with a Vintage Air Sure Fit unit, ew switches in the dash look original but provide modern heat and AC. The wiring harness has been upgraded to an American AutoWire Replacement unit with modern plastic fuses, dditional circuits and labeled wires throughout. The car has a more modern stereo that has USB and IPOD hookups but looks original to keep the stock look. All weatherstripping has been replaced and looks good.
Suspension and Brakes
The car came equipped with factory front disc brakes and drums in the rear, he car has all new parts in the brake system. It retains the front disc rear drum setup but the booster and master have been upgraded to a modern power setup with proportioning block. The brake lines are all new as well. The steering parts have all been replaced, he car has a power steering box and it is easy to steer even at idle. The shocks are factory correct type and both leaf and coil springs are new, he car rides great, tops, teers, orners as it should. The subframe was removed and restored and new bushings were used to bolt it back up to the body. The wheels are factory type steel wheels with Bias Ply factory type tires, hey have 465 miles on them as well.
Engine and Drivetrain
This is where it gets good and expensive, fully built All Aluminum 427 that was basically ordered from the GM Performance Parts Book. This is not 1 of the 427 engines that GM built but even a better version of it. This engine was hand built and dyno tuned by a local performance engine builder from the DFW area. All parts except the timing cover are GM, nd it is a billet Comp Cams unit that is far better than the prone to leaking stamped steel ones that came on the GM crate motor. This engine has file fit rings, egreed camshaft, ll clearances are fitted to exacting tolerances, o cookie cutter production line stuff here. The parts alone cost the owner 18,000 dollars, dd in machine work, ssembly, nd dyno time and you have a 24,000 dollar engine. The engine received a few upgrades that the crate motor did not come with. The timing cover is a billet Comp Cams unit, he distributor is a Mallory electronic unit, nd the carburetor is a purpose built 750 CFM Holley double pumper that was built by the legendary Chuck Nuytten of Rockwall Texas. His carburetors undergo full choke horn removal, ull flow testing and blueprinting to make maximum horsepower. The transmission is a Tremec TKO 600 that is designed for high horsepower applications and has the advantage of an overdrive so that highway driving is much more comfortable and easier on the engine and drivetrain. The clutch is just right, ot too hard to push so anyone can drive the car. The driveshaft is a custom unit built for the car. The rearend is the original 12 bolt that came with the car and it has been fully rebuilt using top quality parts including a new positrac unit, ew gears and bearings along with new axles. The car is geared perfect providing great around town driveability and with the overdrive you can cruise at 80 mph and keep up with traffic at a low rpm. This car sounds mean and you will sneak up on people that look at the stock wheels and body. We just tuned the car, ut fresh plugs in it, hecked the timing and put Joe Gibbs Hot Rod oil in it along with a Wix Racing oil filter so it is good to go. The car runs on 92 or 93 octane pump gas. The engine has a hydraulic roller camshaft, nd roller rockers, very internal part is from the GM catalog, art numbers as follows.Part Number:

Also, s you'll see in the pics the headers are ceramic coated but the coating did not hold up well. They work fine, ut don't look great, hey could be re coated easily for a couple hundred dollars plus the header removal. We can do that work for you before picking it up if you would like us to. Thanks.
