The all-new Camaro was selected to pace the 1993 Indianapolis 500, ecoming the first car in history to be selected for thathonourfour times. To commemorate the event, hevrolet built ONLY 645. This particular '93 Camaro Pace Car has just502 milesfrom new, nd is perfectly preserved inevery wayimaginable. Fully documented, his is an investment-grade vehicle from an amazing collection of low-mileage Indy pace cars and is possibly the nicest example in the world.
Chevrolet has always gone all-out on their pace cars. Unlike some manufacturers who merely slap on a set of decals and call it done, he Camaro features a two-tone paint scheme designed by Corvette Hall of Fame member Randy Wittine,who also designed most of the Corvette Pace Car Works of Art. With flowing graphics that look likeunravellingtape, he car looks like it is constantly in motion. Of course, t also features the customary Indy 500 Official Pace Car decals on the doors, s well as Indianapolis Motor Speedway insignias on the front fenders. This car was purchasedto become part ofmy collection, nd as such has never been driven any significant distance and has never seen rain.Every component and finish is exactly as it was when Chevrolet delivered this Camaro to the dealership in 1993. In fact, hanks to careful care and a lifetime of careful polishing and waxing, t may even look better than it did rolling off the assembly line. This is a seriously nice car.

The Camaro Pace Car interior was unique, nd featured multi-colouredfabric on the seats and a fade-away pattern on the door panels, ying in beautifully with the exterior paint artwork. In this car, ou'll simply have to takemy word for it that the seats are immaculate-they have been wrapped in plastic since they were new and are perfectly preserved. The dashboard hasfully functional gauges that use bright yellow graphics and pointers, imilar to the Camaro Z/28 . This car is loaded with options, ncluding A/C, ruise control, ower windows,power-locks, ower driver's seat, leather steering wheel, Delco-Bose entertainment system, nd removable glass T-tops. You'll also notice that it features a 4-speed automatic transmission, hich is how the actual pace car at the Indy 500 was equipped.

This is a very fast car that needed no mechanical upgrades to effortlessly pace the Indy 500 with theLT1 under the hood borrowed directly from the Corvette. The engine bay is a restorer's road map to show you exactly how these cars were assembled and marked, nd every component is as new. With the exception of the battery, very component is the exact one that was installed on the assembly line22 years ago, ncluding spark plugs and wires. The chassis is equally spotless, ith all factory markings and tags fully intact. There are no Camaro Pace Cars more authentic than this one. The wheels are Z28 16-inch alloys that were painted by the factory in Arctic White to match the lower half of the body, nd it still wears its original Goodyear GS-C tires. Heck, hey may even still have vintage 1993 air in them! I drive all my cars from time to time to keep everythingoperatingsmoothly so mileage may be a tad higher.
