Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 19560000 Description
Up for auction is a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air 4 door sedan, lat black, ot rod, at rod!. This 1956 Bel Air comes from a friend of mine who owned it for about 12-13 years and put a TON of money and labor into making it what it is today, ar was spent the entire time of the NEW owner in a climate control garaged and has never seen rain, nd was driven an estimated 100 miles per year to maintain good working order, dometer reads 49,000 miles which is believed to be accurate. An estimated 20,000$ has gone into this car with a TON of NEW parts and REBUILD OEM parts as well over the course of the ownership, s well as ENDLESS hours of labor and care. Let me start by saying this Chevy Bel Air has a 283 v-8 engine in it with 327 heads, xact year unknown it believed to be from the 60's (64-68)the casting on the block reads 3849852, ar runs GREAT, starts up on the dime every time, ever had an issue as well as no mechanical issues, he 283 packs a good amount of power backed with a Holley 2 barrel (cfm unknown) REBUILT, arb has a manual choke as per dash, 4 speed tranny (unknown) REBUILT, he tranny was REBUILT by the current owner during the restoration, ranny was professional rebuilt by gibraltor and has not seen many miles, omes with a Hurst shifter on the floor, that shifts excellently, his car RUNS GREAT. Valve cover are believed to be the corvette ones that everyone loves. Tires are in great shape, asically new as all the threading is there, ize 225 70 R15, he spare tire is BRAND NEW, nd still shows blue one the white letters, ubcaps look great with 0 dents in them. Dual exhaust with cherry bombs sounds GREAT, Car definitely screams, OT ROD, AT ROD, or those into the trend. Power steering works great, as 4 non power drum brakes with the 1 reservoir master cylinder original to the car, mergency brake works but could use an adjustment. The rear cover has a very small leak only when parked on a hill facing downhill, ther than that it is fine, EBUILT original radiator, EBUILT original generator, ith the power steering attached to the generator as per factory, arious part replaced from dancheck Chevy parts, ifties forever in NJ. The body was completely redone and has no obvious scratches or dents anywhere just maybe little nicks here and there which is common in ALL of these cars, ut nothing that anyone would point out at a car show. Passenger door needs to repainted as there was a crack forming in the body work from it, ooks great the way it is or new owner can repaint it or leave it as it definitely gives the rat rod look, nderneath frame support rails I believe they are have some rust holes, an be seen in pic, they can easily be patched and I don't see them being any issue to the integrity of the body. Floor pans solid with 0 holes in them, ll NEW Bel Air emblems on quarters also brand NEW hood bird, EW fender moldings, EW door handles, EW driver rear view mirror, Bumpers and grill have been painted to match the car same flat black and look GREAT no dents can be seen. Taillights are in good shape they do have some pitting but nothing major and still look great. Doors open and close as should smoothly, with all NEW weather stripping and NO water gets inside the interior of the car, he only place where there is asmall water leak is into the trunk. Owner did endless work detailing the engine in classic Chevy orange well as the engine bay in flat black including the underside of the hood, lso painting inside the trunk with the correct spatter paint the correct trunk mats and even has the bumper jack which is HARD to come by nowadays, s well as spare tire sticker which belongs inside trunk, runk weather stripping BRAND NEW, wner even took a ton of time and painted the underside of the trunk lid which came out great. Interior is RESTORED COMPLETELY, eats reupholstered, EW adjustment chrome button on front bench seat, ash repainted with a BRAND NEW inner glove box, oor panels redone, ash inlay brand NEW, wner put 1955 dash inlay for cosmetic reasons he liked the Chevy symbols in them as supposed to 1956 didn't have them. NEW dome light, EW headliner that looks great, EW visor upholstery, ash is all original gauges look great the glass doesn't appear to have scuffs or scratched seals well and has no leaks, fuel gauge not functioning believed to the be the float in the tank not the actual gauge itself all the rest function as should, eat works as well as kick vents, car has original AM stereo (doesn't work), peaker has been removed, clock is NEW, and it WORKS! which is very hard to come by, EW carpet with the correct looping, EW floor mats with Bel Air symbols. Horn not working, ignals and lights all work as should, urn signal arm must be done manually as it does not spring back, ll lights work except for reverse, igh beams work as they should, icense plate lights work as should. Glass is GREAT 3 of the windows have been replaced all function up and down as should including the glass vents on the windows. The passenger side on the windshield has some scratch around with the glass curves can be seen in the pictures. This is a GREAT HOT ROD, AT ROD, or anyone looking for a special vehicle, eep in mind vehicle is almost 60 YEARS OLD, nd when buying as of these classics there is always something to do or always a minor issue here and there. Car comes with the original moldings which are in the same shape as the window moldings with no pitting really or dents they have the same luster as the window moldings a should probably be polished if new owner chooses, Car also comes with owner manuals from the 1956 Chevy Bel Air as well as authentic literature as seen in pictures, ar has had endless work done to it including TON OF NEW PARTS as well as REBUYILD OEM parts to keep this car authentic at the same time, ard to come by a HOT ROD CHEVY that's this nice. Car is being SOLD AS IS, ERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY, ar is available locally and can be seen upon request as well, eller reserves the right to end auction early is decided, UYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING, ere is your chance to own a great hot rod as well as a piece of AMERICAN HISTORY, hevy Bel Airs will never lose their value as they will always a icon of the golden American age. Check the pics out, hows a lot of details, et me add that this car looks EVEN BETTER in person. Any questions feel free to ask at any time.
