Chevrolet Impala 1966 Description
This is a beautiful Impala with wonderful paint, xcellent interior, and the original 327 engine that was recently rebuilt. This car can be enjoyed in any climate since it is also a rare original factory air conditioned convertible. The top is outstanding and works flawlessly. The transmission has been upgraded to a three speed Turbo Hydramatic.Power disc brakes with a dual master cylinder for safety have been added. A battery cut off switch is installed. An aluminum radiator was added for additional cooling capacity. The dual exhaust is new and compliments the rust free undercarriage. A previous owner put the SS badges on the car and they look great. From what I can tell, although the engine block stamping shows the motor to be the 275 HP with Holley Carb, the trim tag doesn't indicate it to be a Super Sport. Care was taken in outfitting the car with bucket seats and console for excellent comfort and performance. The tires are radials with the correct 1966 Impala hubcaps and wheels. Again, the tires are in excellent condition with little or no real wear. The car was produced in Baltimore and transported to Wilmington Delaware for completion. It was driven in North Carolina and Florida which explains the excellent body and undercarriage.I bought the car from a gentleman that purchased it as a family sunny day cruiser. Having enjoyed it last year, I'm ready to find a new owner so I can play with something new. I'll have a tough time finding one as striking as this car is. I have all trim tag info, serial number, casting dates, and other details that confirm the few changes that are a part of this car's history. In addition to what you see, I have the original intake manifold, Air cleaner, owners manual, and other items that came with the car. This is a car that a family can enjoy. Please contact me with any questions. Also, please bid only if you intend to complete the transaction. Thanks and Good Luck!On May-18-15 at 11:18:11 PDT, seller added the following information:In reviewing this ad I noticed the mileage was wrong. The odometer shows 82, 32. The motor was rebuilt within the last 100 miles. Brakes are new, as is radiator, exhaust, and front suspension parts. I just wanted to correct that even though the major wear components have been replaced.

On May-19-15 at 09:05:09 PDT, seller added the following information:I had a bidder ask me to check a few things for him. He wanted pictures of undercarriage. I sent them and wanted to share them here but for some reason I can't delete any of the 24 photos already posted to make room for them. The undercarriage is beautiful. It has been cleaned and painted. There are no rust issues, and short of a body off restoration, the underside of the car appears as it was when it arrived at the dealer, complete with some undercoating. He also asked about the Air Conditioning. I started the car, turned on the A/C and it worked fine. I would describe the air temperature as cool to cold. It isn't ice cold, buy vintage cars that sit and aren't used for months at a time will expirience some refrigerant loss. I know if I have it charged it will blow cold, but I want bidders to know how it is now.Pictures of the undercarriage are available if you ask a question.
