If you are looking for a late 50's truck that is stock and that turns heads wherever it goes. this is your chance. You will not find a better looking. more tastefully re-conditioned pick-up from this era than this one. It was not re-built to enter into concours competitions. it was built to be driven and enjoyed. If all you want is a truck to trailer around the country and show off at car meets. I suggest you look elsewhere. If you want to drive to the meet and allow the truck to show itself off all the way there and all the way back then I suggest you start bidding. as this is the one for you. I bought it in 2010 from the grandson of the original. farmer owner. I have had great fun with it but want to start riding again so am selling it to by a bike. Details : 1955 “2nd Series Model - Everything is stock on the truck except the engine and transmission. which was changed as I wanted to run down the road when I wanted to without worrying. Big Rear Window – Only a few stepsides in '55 were built with the Deluxe cab featuring a full wrap around rear window. A much better looking vehicle than the small rear window models. Engine - It has a short block 350 engine. completely built up with new parts. Headers - Hedman Headers with 3 inch tailpipes and flowmaster mufflers. Carburettor - Carter 625 cfm with Electric Choke Intake Manifold - Edelbrock Aluminium Transmission - The R700 four speed column auto. transmission is adjusted to match the Stock 411 rear end. Steering - power steering fitted Engine Fan - Electric fan for maximum cooling. Thermostat - 200 degree thermostat for winter driving. Air Conditioner - Vintage Air of San Antonio. Texas using the latest 134 type freon. Upholstery - New mushroom leather on the seat. Carpet - New carpet from Auto Custom Carpets-Anniston. Alabama Seatbelts - Fitted for three passengers. Audio - Audiosound am/fm/MP3 made for the original radio cutout with floor speakers - great sound; when cranked up it is more than you can handle in the confines of such a small cab. Body work - body off paint job. nbsp; new hub caps. all the chrome on the grille and bumpers re-chromed. Also put new windows with new chrome on the window seals. Did not replace the big rear window as this perfect. Trailer Hitch - I have a hidden receiver behind the license plate. I did not hook up the lights for a trailer however the light socket is there ready for the male wiring harness to be hooked up. Wipers - Wipers are converted to electric motor. Battery - New battery Alternator - Replaced wire to ensure adequate amps to charge battery. Rear end Seal - Replaced with new gasket and gear oil. Transmission - Replaced gasket. Fuel Pump - New fuel pump fitted. Installed new oil pan gasket Installed new front crankshaft seal Installed new Oil Pump screen Installed new Harmonic Balancer Brakes – All brake drums turned and refinished with new shoes all round and new master cylinder. Cover - a tonneau cover for the flat bead has been fitted. in order to protect the original yet refinished timber. Overall this truck is in great original condition. It has been seven years since it had its body-off re-spray and as evident in the pictures (taken on 21st September 2014) it is still in great condition. It can be collected (from Athens.
