Chevrolet Chevelle 1970 Description
The 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS was one of the baddest cars on the streets and it's one of the most desired muscle cars today. So finding one with right look with major small-block power might just be the right way to affordably become the king of the neighborhood.Giving a Chevelle an SS makeover isn't a new fad but when you have one of the most attractive muscle cars around people tend to respect it. So when the time came for a restoration they decided to go all-out and give this car a show-quality respray that would emulate one of Chevy's most potent machines. This car has had a lot of work transforming what was once a Forest Green coupe into the mean machine you see today. The sought after Cortez Silver paint shines like a lightning bolt and highlights the exceptionally straight body. Black SS stripes on a cowl induction hood are a big part of the appeal of the Super Sport model as well as the blacked-out SS grille and all the correct badging. Nice chrome bumpers and polished stainless fender trim help complete a package that looks ready for a weekend's worth of cruising.Just like the exterior the interior was given the right muscle car makeover. The original green vinyl was replaced with a much more aggressive black. We doubt there has been much seat time since this restoration because the carpets door panels and benches all feel factory fresh. The driver gets a grippy GT steering wheel and its smaller diameter makes it easier to control the power steering. Plus the extra set of gauges for oil water and power keep you in tune with all the action going on under the hood. And just for those few times that the exhaust isn't your favorite soundtrack a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player was installed so you can choose some modern tunes. If you read this far then you know the motor has to be something special if it's going to live up to the SS name that's now prominently on the car. It's a 350 cubic-inch V8 that was built to take no prisoners. When you pop the hood it impresses with all its chrome and well-organized components that tell people there was some serious money invested here. Beyond all the shiny bits you'll recognize the substance in the performance intake and Moroso air filter. It makes plenty of rumble through the dual exhaust no matter if you decide to bang you own way through the gears or let the automatic transmission do its job. The performance package is complete with factory SS wheels that look awesome and carry 225/70/14 Grand Am GT radials for exceptional all-around grip. With plenty of performance on tap and a price that's irresistible you might have just found the most affordable way to get the Chevelle of your dreams.
