Chevrolet Suburban 1994 Description

Here it is, our very own doomsday diesel built damn nearindestructible. Was originally designed for overlanding and has been seeing almost no time on the road since I bought it. Here's a list of what was originally changed/modified:
- 1997 Dodge Cummins 5.9 12v turbo-diesel engine with the Bosch fuel pump - these engines are rare, an last over 1 million miles before rebuild (they actually outlive the vehicles they're installed in), ndridiculously simple to work on or add extreme power.- FASS Titanium 125gph fuel pump/filter/water separator. In tank fuel siphon.- Silicone turbo hoses.- Optimus Yellowtop deep cycle batteries plus 2 spare batteries- Custom exhaust.- Late model airbox to keep CA dmv happy.... easy to change to snorkel or aftermarket intake.- Full floating 14bolt rear with 4.10 gears/detroit locker- 2001 NV5600 6spd transmission with dual PTO- Dana 60 High Pinion front axle from 79 Ford (in other words, t's extremely robust)- Warn hubs- Allied beadlock wheels (plus one mounted spare)- New (not used) radiator, lternator, elts, ASS fuel pump- New Bilstein shocks- Rear sway bar - can remove for better ground clearance.- Custom dash with all Auto-Metergauges and center console ready for ipad mounting- HID Xenon flood lights all around- Power inverter with AC power and multi-12v outlets- Custom sliding storage and toolbox inside- Custom exo-cage / roof rack with sliders welded - not bolted to frame. (the crumple zones are whatever comes into contact with this beast)- Spare fuel and water can mounts. 1 pair mounted to custom swing out gate in back, nbsp;1 pair on roof rack.- Warn 15000 winch with flip-up license plate- PIAA lights in bumper (not wired though)
- Unmounted aluminum fuel tank and heat exchanger fuel lines for veggie power conversion. Was part of a project I never finished.
This truck was built for overlanding - long range international travel in remote locations. It was designed to keep moving in parts of the world where there are no repair shops. As you can see, t looks like it can take punishment. The mechanical build was carefully chosen to use the toughest, implest, nd most reliable upgrades. The engine is pure mechanical diesel - there are only 3 wires to the engine and no computers control anything.
With the current setup, t gets great milage for it's size ~18mpg highway and can go ~650miles between fillups. Oh, nd if you really wanted to add serious HP/Torque, here's isn't anything else you can do to the drivetrain to make it stronger - it can handle way more stress. Plus, don't know themanufacturer but the previous owner said the driveshaft is aftermarket and has lifetime warranty.
It's California street legal - I spent many horrible weeks making the DMV, ighway Patrol happy, nd CARB happy.
It does not burn or leak oil (see steering pump issue though). It fires up on the first crank every time. Since I've had it since 2012 I've put maybe 3000-5000 miles on it - it still has the same tires and plenty of tread left. The speedo/odometer wasn't working when I bought it and CA didn't require odometer reading.
I'm selling because I don't need it. Thinking about going back to school so could use some $$
Here's a forum posting of the beginning of the build from the previous owner: (www)(dot)pirate4x4.com(forward slash)forum(forward slash)search.php?searchid=42508481
