Chevrolet Nova 1964 Description
Up for sale here is a 1964 Chevy II Custom in excellent shape. The paint issatin gold metal flake and satin black roof. This is definitely a head turner and the pictures do not do it justice. You really need to see this car in person to appreciate everything that has gone into it. This is an excellent cruiser vehicle that the whole family can jump in and have a good time. The car was built to be a daily driver and it has been performing flawlessly for the last 20,000 miles since the rebuild.
First ill start off with a little history on the car. This is a three owner vehicle that was originally purchased by a woman inHebron,Neb. I have all the originally documentation that came with the car new including the purchase receipt. The total for the car on Sept 5, 964 was $2,309.35 after the woman traded in her 1950 Chevy for a credit of $334.35. Up until I bought the car 5 years ago it had stayed inNebfor its whole life so there was very little rust on the car at all. Another great thing is that it only had 30,260 original miles and was all original.
The original drive train was a 194 inline 6 with a three speed manual. You could now drive iteveryday and go 75 mph down the interstate with no hesitation. The engine was replaced with a 250 inline 6 out of a 74 nova with 26,000 original miles. The motor was torn down to freshen it up.The block was sent out to be cleaned, tress checked, ecked and honed. The head was sent out to have it gone through with all new valve seats and a valve job. Instead of listing every new part in the engine it’s just easier to say that everything is new. The only things that are original but were checked out was the crank, am shaft, ntake and exhaust manifold. All of these parts were in excellent condition and didn’t need replaced. The points where replaced with a Petronix electronic ignition and matching coil for reliability. The stock carb was swapped outfor a NOS Holley Economaster single barrel. It also has chrome valve covers, ide covers, ater pump pulley and alternator fan kit. It has a new battery, oltage regulator, lternator, nd blower motor along with a new heater coil. All the lines were replaced throughout the car and even a new fuel tank and pump were installed. I have receipts for all of the parts put into this car to prove that the work was done. The transmission is a T5 5 speed from an 84 S10 with the V6. The tranny had 58,000 miles on it and works great with no problems. I used a swap kit for a small block Chevy which included a new bellhousing, lywheel and clutch assembly. I was able to use the original pedal, inkage, nd clutch fork from the Nova so it all looks factory. This car cruises the interstate and highway at the perfect rpm and really drives just like a newer car. With this setup I have been getting an average of 24 mpg mostly highway with just a little city driving. The radiator was sent out to be cleaned and lined. There are new brakes all the way around the car and the tires have also been replaced with new Hankook skinny whitewalls. NewMonroeshocks were also installed at all four corners. Everything listed above has right at 20,000 miles and I have not had any problems at all.
There are a couple of items added to the car after the pictures where taken. There is new factory style black carpet, bow tie factory style side view mirrors and a leather style boot for the shifter with a chrome base ring. The plates on the car are now replaced with New York state plates. these pictures where taken before . Thanks for looking this car is like new, on't pass up a great deal. It would take over 15k to duplicate this car. Thanks for taking your time out to look.
