Chevrolet Chevelle 1970 Description

1970 Chevelle SS 454, S5, umbers matching engine block. Factory M-22 4-speed car but the original transmission is long gone. There were two build sheets found in the back seat that make one good one. The car is still mostly original paint. The original hood was destroyed but I do have a really good OEM SS hood that will go with the car. This car was purchased locally and has remained here all it's life other than a few trips the owner made to the west coast to the Air Force base in California during the very early 70's. The car has 42,000 actual miles. The car was purchased new on December 23rd, 969 from Black's Chevrolet in Ash Grove Missouri. There are lots of stories that go with the car but I will give you the short version for now and will elaborate with the new owner. The gentleman that owned the car was known to drive it to it's full potential. After various incidents the father (as I have heard it told) basically took the car away from the son and parked in their dirt floored basement in 1975. The engine was removed from the car and sat in the floor after being disassembled. I purchased this carlast spring from the father of the original owner, n the title the car was registered in the father's name so technically I purchased the car from the original owner who is 92 years old . Many people in our area have wanted this car for years, e included. The owner never wanted to sell the car but due to a fire that took the home last spring, was able to purchase the car to many peoples surprise. I had full intentions of doing a full nut and bolt frame off rotisserie restoration to the car but unfortunately my finances won't allow the restoration at this time. The car was pulled out from under the house last spring. The first time it had seen daylight since 1975. I am friends with many people that know the car well and some that spent some time in the car. This is a REAL deal car. It was a solid red car, o stripes, o power steering, ery plainly optioned car but has the original engine block and a good build sheet. The car would have survived much better but drew a lot of moisture from the dirt floor it was setting on. The trunk floor is solid and will not need any repairs, here are a couple of holes that will need addressed in the floor pans and the shifter tunnel "hat" will need replaced due to an enlargement for a different shifter. Items that I know are not with the car are, he original heads, riginal intak, riginal carburetor, rankshaft, transmission, adio, adiator and I am sure a few other engine bay items, lease don't hesitate to ask. Here are some parts that I do have for the car that are not in the pictures. I have the original distributor, riginal exhaust manifolds, have a date correct alternator that is already rebuilt, ate water pump that is also rebuilt, ll 5 ss wheels, umper jack, rive shaft, 21 bellhousing and clutch fork, riginal valve covers, riginal fuel pump, riginal shifter, ir cleaner assembly and radiator top plate. In short the missing parts got destroyed during the clean up of the burnt house before I could get it bought and out of there. Also need to mention that the clean up crew hooked a chainaround the core support to drag the car out of the basement therefore the core support, umper and bumper brackets are bent. Feel free to call with questions but only if you are a super interested buyer. 417-327-5869. I encourage you to come and inspect the car, will make myself available most anytime. No trades, o help selling the car. I do reserve the right to end the auction early for any reason. I require a $500.00 deposit with in 3 days of auction end and the entire transaction to be completed with in 7 days of auction end. I do have many additional photos and can take more if there is something specific you need to see. I really hate to sell this car and hope it will go to someone who will give it the restoration it deserves. Thanks for looking.
