Most 1955 Corvettes had automatic transmissions. Estimates place the number of Manual Transmission '55 Vettes produced at 75. The Corvette Restorers Society believes the number produced with Manual Transmissions to be as low as only 50-70. A Powerglide Automatic was a required option on the 1955 Corvette until some point after the middle of 1955 model production. Next to the 1953 model (the year that the Corvette was launched) the 1955's were the lowest production-volume Corvette model with a total of only 700 produced. Some at the time thought that this model was the last chance for Corvette due to the immense success of Ford's Thunderbird.

This stunning NCRS Top-Flight Award Winning Corvette had it's odometer reset to zero miles at the restoration's completion having covered just over 1100 since it's Original Stock Combination restoration.
