Chevrolet C-10 1972 Description
This is my 1972 Chevy Cheyenne C10, ong bed, 50 V8, H350 automatic, ower steering, ower brakes, /C truck. I am the second owner. The truck started its life in Mississippi but came up to Ohio a few years ago. It is garaged and isn't driven in the salty Ohio winters. I really like this truck. It is in fair condition, uns and drives, ut would need some TLC before you hop in and drive it cross country.Cosmetics/Body
As far as I'm aware, he only non-original sheet metal on the truck is the tailgate and the right front fender. Both were replaced with OE parts from a donor - not some cheap third party sheet metal. It has an aftermarket rear step bumper and unfortunately I don't have the original. The truck is solid. Rust is limited to a few spots (particularly the rockers). The frame and body are in excellent shape considering the age. The truck was repainted in the original color scheme in the 1990's. The paint is tired, ut this truck still looks nice and I still get compliments nearly every time I drive it. The glass is in great shape all around, ut the driver side vent window shaft that it pivots on is broken so the window sort of flops around. I have the original wheel covers that will go with the truck (not pictured).
Interior
The interior has been redone at some point and looks nice. The bench seat is nice and comfy. One of the dash vents is broken and the glove box liner is gone.
Mechanical
This truck has the original 350 V8. The engine weeps oil. I recently adjusted the valves, eplaced the valve cover gaskets, nd rebuilt the carb. It's (still) hard to start when the engine is cold. I think the fuel might be draining out of the bowl overnight. It idles nicely and drives smoothly down the road, ut sometimes under load there is hesitation. The TH350 transmission shifts smoothly with no issues. I routinely drive this truck around town and don't have issues. I have always changed the oil at the correct intervals. The exhaust manifolds have some cracks. A/C does not work. Suspension-wise, his truck is pretty nice. New shocks, ew driveshaft bearing and u-joints, ew tires (<2000 miles). It feels solid on the road and drives nicely. 3.73 rear end. The speedometer (and odometer) read fast. Brakes are in great shape. Discs up front and drums in back. I recently rebuilt both rear drums.
Electrical
There's some TLC to do here. The dash gauges don't work (except the fuel gauge). The AM radio doesn't work. The heater always seems to be blowing. Don't get too worried though, ll the important electrical stuff, ike the lighting and the ignition system, ork. I've never done troubleshooting on this stuff, o I don't know what's causing the issues.
Summary
This is a nice truck that would be a perfect candidate for a rebuild/restoration or for a daily driver with a little TLC. I hate to get rid of it, ut priorities change and I have too many projects. Remember, his truck is 43 years old and is sold as-is, ithout warranty. I've done my best to describe the truck accurately. I welcome (and encourage) local buyers, nspections, hone calls, nd/or emails. I have a clear Ohio title for this truck. I will help with shipping if needed. Please review the pictures. If you want to see more, ust ask and I'll go take a picture of whatever you need to see.
Thanks for looking, nd good luck!
