1929 Chevrolet RoadsterDesigned and built by Ghostwood Hot Rods in North Salt LakeBody4-door sedan converted into lakester style roadster. Rear doors were deleted and the rearbustle was stiffened up.The body was also channeled over the frame a few inches.Custom windshield post were also fabricated.The grill shell is from a Ford Model A and was customized to resemble the Chevrolet. A period correct chevrolet badge was also installed.Engine/TransThe engine is a '78 Buick 3.8L Evenfire V6. It has an HEI distributor and an Edelbrock carb.The transmission is a Turbo 350 with a Lokar shifter.Fuel tank is a spun aluminum tank painted the same color as the metal trim in the interior.Chassis/suspensionThe frame came from a 1921 Dodge and was Z-ed up just behind the rear bustle.The Ford 8" rear end is hung on a transverse mounted leaf spring and Pro-shocks.The tubular front axle is hung with quarter-elliptic leaf springs and Pro-shocks.Front brakes are discs with drums in the rear.The car sits on 15" black steel wheels with beauty rings and radial tires.InteriorThe seats were custom designed and fabricated with high density foam and wrapped with a butterscotch leather.They are surprisingly comfortable.The floorboards are made from treated marine plywood and covered with a durable treadmill material.Door panels and shift boot were finished in the same leather.A small motorcycle amp was installed under the dash which allows a hookup for aniPod or similar MP3 player. Small alpine speakers were added into the side panels.PaintThe car is painted with a single stage maroon with added flattener.The beauty line was masked and sprayed with a single stage gloss black.
