NOTE: I am not a so called “Chevelle expert” the following is information that I have gathered from doing my homework. I will describe the car as accurately as possible. Please feel free to contact me for additional information or specific question.

I found this car sitting in a garage in Cincinnati Ohio. It has been there since 1982 and was last registered in 1981. The original owner bought the car from Butler Chevrolet in new London Conn. He kept meticulous records of maintenance as shown in the pictures. The second owner was the older of two brothers here in Cincinnati. He drove the car in High school from 79 to 80. He then sold the car to his younger brother who drove it till 1981 and parked it in the garage. It has been there since.

After dropping and cleaning the gas tank installing a new fuel pump new battery new water pump having the original radiator re-cored new master cylinder new starter and changing the plugs wires cap button condenser points and new coil she pretty much fired right up. All of the major changed out components are still with the car. I did remove the Quadra-jet carb and used a Holley I had sitting around to start the car. The Quadra-jet carb is currently being rebuilt and will come on the car. I have been driving this car to local shows and cruise ins. It’s just like back in the day!

DOCUMENTATION

I have the original owner’s book of maintenance records that includes some of his personal payments on the car (interesting read). I also have the original build sheet in excellent condition and the original owner’s manual.

MOTOR TRANS AND REAR END

The 454 is pad stamped with a few letters I cannot read. However the last four are 7CRT the pad also has the correct VIN stamping of 10A166131. The Quadra jet carb may not be original to the car. There are no tags on it but it is stamped 7040200 witch I believe is correct for a 1970 Chevelle 454. The 4 speed is a M22 and the tag reads 976766WO which is also correct for this car. I am unable to find a tag on the rear end or any ID numbers.

BODY

It appears the passenger fender was replaced back in the late 70’s or early 80’s as the badges are not on strait. I would suspect it was replaced with a GM fender as re pops would not yet have been readily available. The fender door and lower rear quarter where re-sprayed at some point. The job may have looked good then but to me it looks as though it was done in somebody’s garage. Both rear inner and outer quarters will need patches the front drivers fender would need a patch as well. The rear bumper and deck lid have dings in them (see pictures). The car appears to have been dealer undercoated. There are no visible holes in the floorboards or trunk area. Overall for 45 years old a very solid car.

INTERIOR

The front bucket seats have some tearing the rear seats are near perfect the headliner is nice with a small tear in the back the carpet is original and old the dash has a crack in it over the driver’s speaker. There is a crack and missing piece of plastic on the tack window. Again overall for 45 years old NOT hateful. All the gauges work except for the gas. She does have the desired gauge cluster with the tack and clock.

COWL TAG

I do not have a clear picture of the cowl tag but the information is:

70-13637 A 51470

796 B80 B90 4848

059 400721 530125

WHATS MISSING

The original air cleaner is gone I don’t believe the steering wheel and shifter are correct. The rear speaker panel and the 8track are missing.

The title says 96000 miles but the odometer says 86000. We believe this was an error by the second owner the odometer has not rolled over. Again please contact me with any questions. I do have other pictures I can e-mail. $2000.00 nonrefundable deposit thru pay-pal within 48 hours of auctions end. The remaining balance due within ten days cashier’s check or cash. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I will not release the car until the funds are verified. The reserve will not be divulged.
