Chevrolet C-10 1970 Description

Say hello to “Mr. Pickup” whospent most ofhis life as a camper truck (so you know the bed is in great shape). This truck gets its name sake from the awesome vintage rear Mr. Pickup bumper. This truck is a C-20, o it is basically twice as bad ass as a C-10. For those of you who don't know, he main difference is a ¾ ton vs. ½ ton, hich is created by a stronger drivetrain, eefed up frame, lug wheels, arger differential, nd stiffer suspension.Since this truck is on a full air bag system now, he stiffer ride is taken out of the equations. What’s left is one tough truck.

WhenI first laid eyes on this truck I knew I had to have it.First off the paint is unbelievable. All original with just the right amount of wear from years of being on the road and the interior is in amazing shape for a truck of this age.Since I wanted to give this bad boy a new attitudeI had to make a few modifications.

All the work was done professionally at a high end custom car shop. FirstI wanted to get this thing as close the ground as possible soI swapped out the large off road tires for brand new 225/70/R16.This helped drop the truck a few inches, utI wanted more. The next step was to put on drop spindlesand full disc brake conversion up front and put a C-notch in the rear. This dropped this truck so muchI had to cut out space for the differential to fit through in the bed.

As for power, he truck came with a slightly modified 350 small block with an Edelbrock intake and 4 barrel carburetor, oupled with a 350 trans. Since it was running strongI decided to just up the HP by upgrading the exhaust system from the manifolds back from asingle systemto a duel system with Flow Master Mufflers, hich dump out just after the rear axle. This truck has no leaks and burns no fluids.

From thereI turnedmy attention to the smaller details starting with the engine compartment.Knowing that everyone loves the retro look,I stripped away all of the chrome accessories and swapped out with newvalue covers and air cleaner housing which was matched to the light tan interior, ringing it all together. From hereI started to tighten up little odds and ends such as clean up the wiring, egreasing the major components, nd removing any unsightly and unnecessary add-ons.Ialso wanted to do something original in the bed where the opening was made for the rear end.You will see a ton of different concepts of how people tackle this butI thinkI came up with one of best.Iscoured the Army Surplus stores until I finally came across this vintage Howitzer Artillery box and attached two vintage ammunition boxes to both sides creating one awesome storage box or bench seat.

What you're left with is one great looking, nd great running, ruck which is sure to be a constant conversation piece for many years to come.I amsure the next owner will also find a few ways to make this one their own without having to break the bank.

Please email with any questions or to schedule a test drive in Mr. Pickup;I dare you to try driving him without breaking a smile!
