Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1956 Description
Very cool 1956 Chevy 2 door handyman wagon, 50 series. Original paint with great patina. Pretty straight, ut does have a couple dents. One in the passenger fender eyebrow, nd one on the side of the driver fender by the headlight. Passenger rocker is creased.A little bit of rust on the lower door skins, nd password fender lower rear corner. The rest of the body is solid, ncluding the rockers and bottom of the doors. The passenger quarter is solid in front of the wheel well, hat's just chipped paint. The floor pans have been replaced. Spare tire well is solid. The original tailgate was rusty. It was replaced with a solid tailgate from a '57 wagon. It does need some bodywork. The front bumper is missing. Luckily, he hard to find rear bumper is there. The interior is very nice. Front seat is a split bench from a '69 Chevelle. Back seat has been reupholstered to look similar to the front seat. New front and rear door panels, arpet, nd headliner. The dash and all the interior trim was stripped to bare metal, nd painted satin black. Vintage metal flake steering wheel. The front windshield is new. All the rest of the glass is original. No cracks, ut the door windows are clouding a little.Motor is a low mile 283 V8. Has headers, actory 4 bbl intake, nd rebuilt Rochester carb. Starts right up, uns great.Transmission is a 700r4 overdrive automatic that will need rebuilt. When we installed it, e thought the TV cable was for kick down, nd didn't hook it up initially. We went ahead and ran and tuned the motor, robably running it for an hour or so. It turns out that cable actually was for locking up the torque converter. The transmission shop said we burned up the pump within 10 minutes of running the motor. Oops. The rear brakes are stock drums with new wheel cylinders. The front are a disc conversion. New pads all around. They still need to be bled and adjusted. It has a power booster.14" American Racing aluminum wheels, ith good tires. All the lights work, ncluding the turn signals. The heater and wiper motor are not hooked up, ut all the parts are there. This won't take much to be a driver. I'm just tired of projects, nd am disappointed about the transmission mistake. It will need to be trailered when it's picked up.Clean Oregon title in my name.Feel free to call with any questions. (503)515-9123.I work from home, o can easily meet with your shipper.
