Chevrolet C-10 1988 Description
Never thought this day would come but it has up for sale has been my labor of love over the last six years. Almost 40K invested... Just finished in June 2015 This truck started out 2009 as a 3/4 ton work truck, started by switching it over to a more comfortable riding 1/2 ton suspension. I switched out the entire front cross-member from a donor truck rebuilt the front a arms and installed bell tech 3in drop spindles cut 3/4 of a coil of new coils and added bell tech Nitro drop 2 shocks, ll the bearings, eals, alipers, otors, rake hoses were all replaced with new and detailed. In the rear I switched out the leaf springs and rear axle from the same donor truck. The rear-end was rebuilt and a 373 gear was added, then flipped the axle on top of the leafs and added 2in bell tech shackles. I raised the carrier bearing installed all new u joints welded in a mini c notch and built custom shock mounts on the rear with bell tech nitro drop 2 shocks. The truck rides amazing it just floats down the road. As for the drive-train, he truck originally was a TBI 350 turbo 400 truck that didn't perform the way I thought it should so I pulled the motor and trans out of a 96 impala SS which is an Lt1 350 with a 4l60e, installed new plugs, ires, pti spark distributor and water pump . I had the transmission built as far as it could be for towing, lthough the truck has yet to pull a trailer which was my intention. The motor and transmission at time of install had 80k original miles the transmission now has less than 2k. The exhaust on the truck is 2.5in duals with an H-Pipe flowing into 2 chamber Thrush mufflers dumping behind the axle under the bed and sounds great! Going to this new motor the original fuel pumps would not work due to psi restrictions so I installed two brand new fuel tanks, ew sending units, ew correct fuel pumps as well as a new tank selector valve. That's right BOTH fuel tanks work! As well as the fuel pumps not being the same neither were the A/C lines so I replaced the condenser, ryer, vaporator, ompressor and had custom lines made while at that time switching it to 134a. The air will freeze you out! Now that the mechanical is covered we will move to the outside. When I got the truck like I said above it was a work truck not meaning it was beat up but meaning it had roll up windows rubber mat and a single headlight front-end. I started off finding rust free 91 suburban doors with power windows and locks switched out the wiring harness and also switched out the core support for a 91 suburban as well. The only rust on the truck was a little bubble up on the rocker panels so they were both replaced and all cab seams, rip rails, take pockets, nd bed corners were shaved and smoothed out, oor gaps were adjusted and welded on to get a tight fit. Then it was blown apart to just a bare cab on the frame body worked, ammed reassembled blocked numerous times and painted with PPG base clear. The blue I chose is a stunning bright deep blue called deep impact blue from a 2014 mustang with beautiful metallic grey down the middle know as sparkling graphite off of a 2006 BMW M3. All paint and body was done by Clutch Rod And Custom in Wichita ks...Pictures do not due this truck justice There was no expense spared! Every piece of rubber or felt is brand new on the truck, very piece of chrome, ense, ight, rim piece all of it new! I wanted this truck to look like you could of went to the dealership and picked it up this way! Simple and Clean! After the truck was assembled i took it down and had our local linex dealer spray in a custom color matched sparkling graphite bedliner! For the wheels i couldn't sacrifice the quality and had Intro wheels build me a custom set of Twisted Vista II's for it and wrapped them in General Tires. On the inside of the truck The entire cab was dynomated, ew carpet, rim, ash cover, eadliner and a set of electric leather seats and console were custom fitted and installed. For the stereo the truck has a JVC cd player, ith custom kick panel speakers, icker dash and behind seat speakers with a custom built sub box housing a shallow 12in Memphis mounted behind the rear seat. Almost forgot to mention this thing has remote start! This truck turns heads and gets thumbs ups every where you go. The only thing i had left i wanted to do to the truck is install a set of dakota digital VHX guages and re dye the front seat belts that was just for aesthetics. The body and paint is flawless all except a garage failure where something fell off the wall and chipped the paint on the drivers side bedside, ee pictures... The truck has only been to one show since completion. If you have any questions any at all about the truck i am sure i can answer them i know i am forgetting a ton so just ask! You can call or text me at 316-650-0888. The truck is for sale as is where is with a non refundable deposit of $1000 due within 24 hours of the closing of auction.
