Chevrolet Camaro 1969 Description

UPDATE TO AUCTION ........ I received this inspection "document" from the owner and was asked to add it to the auction listing today[SEE LAST PHOTO] . He received it from the previous owner . My personal " report" to the new owner was to wax and detail the car since it still had laquer paint which for 35 years old looked extremely well [you judge from the pics, lean it inside and out,top and bottom, ith soap and water[no black paint or spray cans under hood or undercarriage] take all the day two/incorrect parts which were all bolt on items off,and replace with the correct parts, many of which originally came with the car ,and avoid making it a fully restored show car at ALL costs. The idea was to keep the car in the company of a very few, nstead of many. He did just that. He also obtained information online that only 2-3 other factory 427 camaros cars with similar or less miles and original drivetrains M22 etc were out there, certainly no more than a few others are out there . Two of those referenced are heavily modifed race cars making a super low mileage and unmolested claim difficult and somewhat irrelevant ,and one real nice basically left alone car with a few thousand less miles than this car that had a Mecum estimate in 2014 of $400,000-450,000. Keeping in mind that restored frame off COPOs have auction estimates half of that unrestored car . The latter car is the closest comparison to this car for sale since there arent many others to choose that didnt get thier low mileage 1/4 mile at a time or have disconnected speedometers due to racing . Basically unmolested COPO cars are impossible to find, and every attempt to retain as much of the patina and originality of a low mile car should take precedence over the thought of a full nut and bolt restoration which is usually reserved for rust buckets, rebodied cars, former heavy race modifed cars, and cars that just dont stand tall on thier own. Most car buyers want to set themselves apart from other, ou decide if you want to get in line at a major show and park next to the 10 other frame off COPOs and argue who has the shinier ca, r start your own lineup at the show with alot of empty spots with a low mile basically left alone car that will have a crowd around it all day long . This car is being sold by the current owner,I am simply listing it for him . Serious buyers can email for his contact info. Basically left alone cars are rare, but add the fact the COPO 427 cars were made for racing, finding a COPO with originality like this is almost impossible to find If you are seriously considering a 427 fully restored superca, ask the seller to provide you with before restoration pictures. You probably wont get any. .If you do, ou probably wont be pleased. COPO camaros were made to race, and that fact alone means hardly any have the original drivetrain,. Add all the cut up, ubbed, and hacked cars and you will see how special this car is. Average frame off COPOS with NOM or restamped drivetrains have recently sold in the 200K range. Some were restored starting from a firewall and replacement panels made in Asia . Many were rust buckets. Up for auction is one of the finest examples of a survivor type 427 COPO camaro. I am listing this for the owner who is a friend of mine . The car is currently on the east coast but is getting shipped out to the west coast in the next month or so . The owner history from new is known. I have known the previous 2 owners of this car who had it since since 1980 or so. One owner knows who the original owner was, believe it was a states attorney in NJ as I am told . From famed Hi peformance dealer Malcolm Konner in Paramus NJ. This is an original 20K mile car . It has had one repaint approximately 30 years ago in correct laquer. There are no chinese made panels on this car. The engine compartment and undercarriage have not been restored or fluffed up with spray cans . The drivetrain is documented and certifed original. THIS IS A SERIOUS CAR FOR A SERIOUS ENTHUSIAST OR COLLECTOR. Any collector who appreciates originality would be proud to own this car. You probably wont find a more genuine car on the market at any price. If you want a trailer queen perfect frame off ca, lease dont waste the owners time.
