Chevrolet Corvette 1965 Description

1965 Corvette Convertible -- 327/365 HP -- L-76 optioned - Nassau Blue with White Leather seats. 4 Speed Manual. I have owned this car for 10 years and Ibelieve I am the third owner. I bought this car in Ventura California and it has lived in my collection in Beverly Hills for the past decade. It has been driven very lightly, ostly to local shows and cruise nights.
The history that I know of this car is that a woman in Camarillo California owned this car. At some point she garaged it and it remained there until the late 1990's when an auto body shop owner was told of the car's existence. He found and bought the car. He repaired a dent to the passenger front side of the front clip and repainted the car. I bought the car off this man in 2005.
When I bought the car I immediately added the side pipes and Kelsey Hayes Knock Off Wheels. We tuned the car and Ican tell you that when I bought the car it had the original corvette valve covers -- we put a Holley carb on the car to improve the way it ran. At that time we removed the original valve covers and put them in a box with the original carb. I am still looking for that box and not sure that I will ever find it, o I will be selling the car without those items.
Let me add that I am a deeply crazy car lover and I looked long and far for this car. I loveNassau Blue with White Interior. There is no better combination. The fact that this car is an L-76 365 Horse Power car was a huge bonus or me. This car is incredibly powerful and rumbles like a beast.
I will take as many pics of the car as I can and I know the Corvette Folks and tire kickers will demand to see all of the stamps and castings etc. I will do my best.
327/365 HP -- 4 Speed - Matching Numbers - California Car - Original L-76 - Original Blue/White
I am posting this listing this morning just to start the auction -- I will include the quick pics I took with my phone. I am going to take the car to my shop in Van Nuys and see if I can't get it up on a lift and take some under carriage shots and get some lit shots of the stamps and castings.
I remember that before I bought the car, took many pictures of the stamps and castings and I was particularly focused on the engine stamp pad. The stamp was the original and had never been decked or smoothed and restamped. There is however an additional stamp on the Engine Stamp Pad that says "performance clinic" -- which an NCRS judge explained to me was an engine shop that did factory warranty work on Corvettes in the '60's thru '80's. I am 100% confident that this is the original motor that came with this car.
I have never removed the motor and rebuilt it. As I stated we did some work to the top half, eals, lugs, arb. The transmission and clutch are strong. Second gear has a small grind to it which wouldn't be a hard repair but I find it charming. My guess is that you would decide to leave it as well.
I am a long time e-Bayer with 100% perfect feedback and have strong plans to keep it that way. I am a car collector and a hobbyist. I don't turn and burn cars and I rarely sell the cars I buy.
I think this car is special. It is mostly a survivor with the original carpet and door panels. The seats are leather but I believe that the data plate codes out to the car having white vinyl from the factory so that may have been an upgrade at some point.
This is a very solid, nmolested, riginal car. I think it could be a prospect for a top flight restoration but I like how original it looks and smells. It's got California plates and side pipes that rumble.
I reserve the right to end the auction early as I have started letting some local people take a look. I would love people who are truly interested to come take a look or send someone to put their hands on the car.
Stand by for much better pics and pics of the stamps and maybe the undercarriage -- thanks for looking. I hope it finds a good home.
I just decoded the data plate -- the car was built on Tuesday March 15, 965 in St Louis Mo.

On Jul-17-15 at 18:29:48 PDT, eller added the following information:

In speaking to some folks I realize that I had never taken a picture with the top up. As you can see I have added pictures that show the top. When I bought the car, he previous owner had put aMercedes Hartz Material Dark Blue Canvas Top. It is in excellent condition. Ibelieve originally it would have a white vinyl top.
I also included pictures of the engine block stamp that shows the VIN number that matches the title and the Data Plate under the dash and also the Engine Code which ends in HH that denotes the 365 HPset up.
I also took a photo of the Tachometer that goes to 6500 that is also a correct indicator for the 365 HP car.
Many have asked about the paint. I would not repaint this car -- I think the paint presents very very nicely. Come take a look. The chrome is also excellent -- new or re-chromed piecesinclude - bumpers, oor handles -- badges, as cap.
The trim that shows its age would be the trianglewind frames. The side view mirror.
Thanks guys -- I am charging the car and will take it out tomorrow and take some pics in the light of day. Thanks for theinterest.
