Texas Classic Cars Of Dallas is proud to showcase this modified 1990 Chevrolet C 1500 Picku, Here we have a 1990 Chevrolet 1500 SS454. The 454 SS were produced from 1990-1993 and were to be direct competition for the Ford F150 Lightning. The total number of units produced was 16,953 its best year in 1990 with a total of 13,748 units sold, hat left a total of 3205 sold from 91-93. The 454 SS had reduced payload capacity smaller than the standard models in the years before. The 454 SS was and still is a pure thrill machine. Stock models are good for mid to high 15 second range in the quarter mile times. Its mid range punch is even better.
The 454 SS was manufactured and assembled at only one General motors plant located in Fort Wayne, ndiana. This SS is powered by a ramped up 502CID Crate fuel injected big block paired to the trucks original smooth shifting 3-speed automatic transmission. It is clean and in good condition. Nice paint all around except for the hood where the paint is slightly fading and regular small road chips, he body is straight and dent free with factory wheels, old ac, ot heat! This truck is truly ready to go. Call or come by to see this truck in person and for more information. These 454 SS trucks are getting hard to find and this one won’t last long.

For those unfamiliar, he 454 SS was a half-ton, egular cab, WD pickup powered by a 454 cubic inch (7.4-liter) V8 with 230 horsepower and 385 pound-feet of torque shifting through a three-speed transmission. This was at the same time the Chevrolet Corvette used a 5.7-liter V8 producing 250 hp and 350 lb-ft. The pickup rode on exclusive wheels and only came in black with red cloth inside. The only extra-cost option on this example is an $18 locking fuel filler cap, hich, ccording to the 454 SS forum, eans it should have cost about $18,460 out the door, he equivalent of about $34,000 today.

Cosmetically, he Chevy is in good condition, howing only minor wear. This truck is all about the engine. It runs and drives great.
