Chevrolet Camaro 1968 Description
I am selling this 68 Camaro. I recently purchased it for a decent price and it was unassembled. The previous owner took a very nice Camaro and decided to make it a Pro Street/ Race car. He removed the back half of his and grafted another one with the race set up onto his car. The car appears to line up well and I put the doors on to see how well it is aligned. I don't have the hinges so the doors are only held on by the latch and a string across the front to both doors. I used a few bolts to bolt the front end together. The hood hinges still had the original GM tags on them and appear to be new(with ten years of dirt). That is how long I was told this car had been sitting. When I first got it home, y plan was to see if it would fire up. I put a socket on the pulley to make sure the motor turns and it did not budge. So I am selling the car without anyengine or transmissionguarantee. I will try to puta battery on the starter and pull the plugs to see if it will turn after I lubricate the cylinders. I will do this in the next couple of days and post it before the end of the auction.I looked at the casting number on the block and I believe it is a 307, OT a 327. see pictures of casting number. My original plan was to remove all the race components and to restore this car back to a original SS. Since I ran into these things I decided to try and sell it to someone who may be able to use it like it is and finish the under carriage. The frame rails are not connected and thefloor is incomplete just behind the drivers seat. The original instruments are gone so I don't have any idea how many miles the car has. I do have a clear and signed title that was issuedin 2011and it shows the car has 50,000. There is a narrowed 9 inch ford rear end under it. I don't know which one it is or if it the heavy duty one or not. I am not very knowledgeable in this. That is why I planned on restoring. The engine casting number is 3970020. The first part of the VIN is I24378L335XXX. When I did a little research, found this is for a Sport Coupe.
I will answer all questions and do my best to be totally honest.
