Chevrolet Camaro 1969 Description

For sale is a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 Resto-Mod in Cortez Silver.
This is NO RESERVE auction.
There are currently 3,924 miles since the complete rebuild on the chassis and motor. This car was purposefully built to be a show-and-go Camaro; the current and previous owner never took this car to the track or even put it on a dynamometer. This car has won a prize at every car show it has been entered in. Although this Camaro is in excellent condition, he current owner and previous owner enjoyed short weekend trips around town or to shows (since the rebuild, t has not been a garage/trailer queen). As such, nly one rock chip is visible (as seen on the passenger side panel picture above the wheel); it has been touched up with paint, ut it is visible on the passenger side if you're about three feet away and looking for imperfections. There are no door dings and the remaining body appears to be flawless.
Walk-Around:At first glance, his Camaro has an impressive stance; it's aggressive enough to let others know it means business, ut not so aggressive that it turns the ol' gear heads away. It really attracts men and women of all ages. The paint is near flawless with the aforementioned rock chip that has been touched up on the right, ront fender. Additionally, here is a small, illed-in chip on the front lip that is not noticeable unless you're looking for it (and are about 12 inches away and at eye level). The paint is a Cortez Silver that has had a metallic flake added to it (we have the paint code and will include it with the sale); you cannot notice the flake unless it is in direct sunlight and it really shows well (A picture above has been optimized to show the flake). The interior is clean and features Houndstooth interior that is in great condition with no tears. The current owner added a four-point Schroth Racing Harness to both the driver and passenger side front seats; the harnesses have been installed to correct hard points (not the floor) and show well in the car. The harnesses also have a quick disconnect so you can utilize the back seat in a moments notice. The engine bay is exceptionally clean! For a regularly driven vehicle, he engine bay is in show condition. There are no known areas of rust on the vehicle other than light surface rust under the trunk mat. The entire car appears free/clear of rust other than that one spot. The owner replaced the fuel tank and fuel lines this past summer and noted that there was no rust underneath the trunk or remaining areas of the car. As for the rest of the trunk, t is clean and has new wiring for the taillights and Aeromotive 340 Stealth in-tank fuel pump. Now on to the test drive...
Test Drive:Hot starts are a breeze; the engine turns over easily and starts instantly. Between the hydraulic cam and Flow Master exhaust, his engine sounds AMAZING!! There is a video of the vehicle running and I will try to link it to this listing (or it can be sent to you via email). Regardless, t sounds the way a high-performance V-8 should. The Camaro can easily handle city driving, ut it's really meant to be taken on the back roads and highways. Although it has the factory-style suspension, he suspension is tighter than most period-correct Camaros (most likely due to the polyurethane bushings). The power steering is great to have and there is minimal play in the wheel itself. The manual transmission shifts smoothly and the fifth-gear/over-drive helps keep the RPMs lower for highway speeds (for better fuel economy... if that's your thing). The engine has an enormous amount of power; being that the car hasn't been dyno'd, can only speculate that this engine is pushing around 400-450 HP. In other words, here's more than enough power for the street or strip. Now to stop the car; the cam does not produce enough vacuum to have power brakes, o an oversized master cylinder was installed and mated to front-disk brakes. Honestly, or manual brakes, hey stop surprisingly well (much better than I remember manual brakes being; what I mean by this is this setup seems to require less force or driver input than normal manual brakes). As for cold starts, his Camaro starts quickly and idles well after several seconds (most likely due to the O2 sensor still warming up). There is no smoke on startup or any other phase of driving. The engine seems to run slightly rich for the next minute, ut the engine warms up quickly (the engine has a 195F thermostat) and is back to it's sweet spot. The oversized radiator does a good job of keeping the temps <220 F during stop and go traffic; the coolant system is pressurized to 21-25 PSI and the current owner is running Evans NPG+ waterless coolant (the coolant doesn't boil until 375 F - per the manufacturer). Overall, his is an impressive car that is safe and ready for the road and is awaiting any personal touches you may have.

The weakest point of this car is the battery; it has outlived its life and will no longer hold a charge. The owner has agreed to provide an Optima Red top or Yellow top battery upon completion of this auction (or he will write a check for the value of a Optima battery, f the buyer wishes). Regardless, he battery needs to be replaced and the owner will either replace it or fund a new battery (equal or lesser value of an Optima battery). Lastly, he interior dome light and horn do not work; the current owner has not looked into the issue. That appears to be everything; if additional information is obtained or more receipts are found, will update this listing.
The current owner is an Active Duty Air Force member who has kept an open checkbook for maintenance and add-ons to this Camaro. His reasoning for selling it is rather simple; he has two sets of twins (yes, WO sets of twins) and he is looking to establish a date of separation from the USAF this year and would like to use the proceeds from the sale as a down payment on a house for his family.
Now for the legal stuff:
