Chevrolet Other Pickups 1981 Description
For a little background, this is a 1981 Chevy LUV. With a 2.2L NA Diesel engine that has proven to be the most reliable thing I have ever seen. There is NO rust on the frame AT ALL. Gets 37 MPG highways, yes 37 MPG. That’s better than most sedans. A true survivor of the 80’s, coming all the way from Texas as a small farm truck. Just turned 35 this year, so it can be registered as an antique and your insurance cost will be dirt cheap. I have spent hundreds of hours maintaining her to make her the “perfect” truck, with recently greased bearings and locking hubs, newer clutch assembly, changed fluids all around, new diesel filters, new glow plugs, 2” headers for added horsepower, a 5 speed MAU-5 transmission swap for added torque and increased highway speeds, 4.10 gears for off roading if you so desire (which this truck was never used for), all rust preventative action gets taking my rubbing oil on all parts, NEW ball joints and steering links, new air filter, new Bluetooth stereo system with Kicker Speakers, new 31” tires, interior is all original and in immaculate shape. This truck is a real head turner and everything works as it should. I love this thing with all my heart and soul and hate to see it go away. Keep in mind this is a rare truck, with only literally hundreds remaining and this one is in tip top shape for its age. I know what it is worth, and I have seen diesel versions of this truck go for more, but I am looking for the right buyer. PM if interested, and I will post about this truck on more time in a couple months if it hasn’t been sold, but I won’t get rid of it if the price ain’t right. She doesn’t need anything except for a new driver. Share this ad with anyone who you know who is in the market for a truck like this, or any daily driver that gets 37 MPG. If you buy this truck I will include 5 additional 29” original tires with 60% tread ON RIMS, the original fully operation transmission, the original headers, original exhaust assembly, and new door locks for passenger side, shop manual with full details for all repairs, and more, AT BUYER'S REQUEST... Shipping could get tricky with all those heavy parts, BUT if local pickup then it's even easier… No trades. Buyer is responsible for shipment if they choose to do so, local pickup available too. Never been in ANY accidents at all.Just to place a little emphasis here... This vehicle needs nothing to my knowledge and I have been daily driving her for so long. It is a turn key and go vehicle. It doesnt care how cold it is outside, it'll always start and run and wont let you down. She starts within 5 seconds even in 10 degree weather when you need to get it going and didn't plug in the block heater. The frame has just about no visible rust, and the bed has some use on it, but significant rust to speak of. All rust that may have existed (which was all surface) was treated with a rust converter back when I got it long ago. The CB radio will not be included but you get the custom toolbox for free as well with it! Also, for the record, this isn't a work truck, it doesn't tow anything and I do not use the bed for anything really. I just love trucks, and I enjoy a nice diesel. The signs are up because I do a few things around the university area, so fear not, it isn't a work truck. This is my personal pride and joy. Any questions feel free to shoot an email, Ill answer them all. Also, again, buyer is totally responsible for shipment or local pickup. Happy bidding, and go get her, she wont be leaving you down... 6500 is the lowest I will take.
