Chevrolet Other Pickups 1988 Description

This truck gets lots of looks. It's very cool. I've even had mechanic shops empty out to take photos of it.
1988 Chevy R30 1-Ton dually long bed with the original big block 454 V8 and automatic transmission. I turned it into a RatRod, Shop Truck, motorcycle hauler, road or mountain bike hauler, or just a really cool daily driver, or whatever you can come up with. Truck could be used for many different purposes. The odometer reads 94075 but that may change very slightly because the truck is driven on rare occasions.
This cool truck runs and drives great with no issues except there's a slight oil fluid leak and transmission fluid leak so I suspect that the main seal should be replaced. I will deduct $300 off the winning bid to help pay for the main seal repair. Gauges, lights, and everything, all work. Other than the seal mentioned above, the truck runs, drives, steers, brakes, and performs great. It passes NEVADA smog WITHOUT one single glitch and I can provide the Nevada Smog Certificate to proof it (just ask). This truck is a smooth and clean runner.
I put a lot of time and money into this rig. Here is a short list:
Flip kit on rear to lower it about 7" from original stance.
All new performance leaf spring bushings.
Brand new Monroe adjustable air shocks on the rear so you can adjust for a load.
Lowering springs in front to lower it about 3" from original stance.
Brand new Belltech Street Performance front shocks.
Front bushings and bearings replaced as needed.
Custom fabricated and narrowed metal flat bed frame. Includes a heavy duty welded hitch receiver.
Red Burgundy stained Douglas Fir 2"x 6" wood bed with 5 coats of exterior urethane. Bolted down with zinc carriage bolts.
Custom fabricated rear fenders and support braces.
Custom fabricated short headache rack which also acts as a support and mounting point for the 5" chrome stack exhaust pipes.
Custom 3" exhaust that flares to 5" for the 5" chrome stacks. Due to limited room, glass packs were placed inside the stacks. The exhaust has a real nice solid, deep tone. Two, new Catalytic Converters are inline under the body so the truck will pass NEVADA smog, which it does very easily.
Spun aluminum 17 gallon gas tank and big volume electric fuel pump to supply the gas to the fuel injected 454. New fuel gauge compatible with new sending unit.
Limo tinted rear window and front boarder. Side window tint is lowered a little from the Limo tint for closer compliance, but it's still dark enough for a cool, custom look.
Custom fabricated metal side window sun shades to give a chopped kinda feel.
Custom fabricated metal (14 gauge for stiffness and no vibration) front sun visor. Can be removed if necessary to repair windshield. Windshield did have a small chip but I had it filled/repaired by a specialty auto glass shop.
2" cowl induction metal hood.
New grill but there are a few metal rivets in the surrounding trim. Neatly done though.
Custom wheel covers over original 8 lug rims. Covers are High Quality. They look very nice with a great finish and very secure attachment.
The two front tires are BF Goodrich in new condition. The four rear tires are Bridgestone and in like new condition. Good tread and condition all the way around. LT235/85R16 M&S Radials all the way around.
New Pioneer AM/FM/CD/Playback of compressed MP3, WMA/ AND it has a aux input for IPod etc. I didn't change out the speakers. One speaker in front (driver's side), and two speakers in the rear corners. The sound is nice.
New Horse Blanket seat cover but the vinyl seat under it is in good condition. The seat construction is in very good condition...solid springs and integrity.
Rubber floor covering and two rubber floor mats. The driver's side floor covering has some tears under the floor mat. The floor mat covers the tears.
Some nice, quality stickers (Route 66, RAT PISS, GOODYEAR, UMI Performance, Harley Davidson).
Custom made plates on the doors cover some old mirror holes. The plates consist of real 20MM dummy rounds welded to 14 gauge steel and riveted in place. They look really cool and get lots of comments.
PAINT:
Almost all of the undercarriage and new fabrication metal work was primed and painted with Rust-oleum Gloss Enamel (rattle can). Or, in some areas where a rattle can wasn't feasible I used Rust-oleum industrial gloss enamel which matches the rattle can paint.
The Fender wells were stripped to metal and sprayed with Duplicolor bed liner/fender well coating to create a very nice and clean job.
The truck was originally white and I was going to do a faux patina kinda finish on it, so I sanded it and then rattle canned the the whole thing with three coats of Rust-oleum Gloss Black Enamel. But once I got the black on, I liked it so much that I decided not to do a faux (black and white) patina. I like the way it looks now. The paint is not perfect but it gives the truck a RAT feel without being too rough. If you decide otherwise, you can wet sand and seal the paint job if you want, patina it like I was going to do, or you can leave it as is and let nature and natural wear and tear turn it more RAT.
No body work was performed by me because I wanted some roughness. The little rock dents and body imperfections were left as is because I wanted a RAT feel. I didn't find rust but found some small metal/welded patches at the bottom cab corners (around 2"x 2" in size).
I feel like I have the reserve set right. If it sells at the reserve price I will lose money but I'm selling because I have another project car that I need to put the money toward.
CLEAN AND CLEAR NEVADA TITLE IN MY NAME.
