Chevrolet Camaro 1985 Description
This is a rare IROC and some consider a Grail car 3rd generation. Factory Yellow, L69 High Output Carburated 305 backed by the 5 speed. This car was just pulled out of storage and completely gone through mechanically. It has 4 new Fuzion tires, a new OEM cat back exhaust, two new calipers rotors and pads. These items were replaced due to the car sitting. The exhaust had pinholes and the factory Gatorback tires were dry rotted. The car is all original other than these parts. The interior is in excellent shape with no cracks in the dash pad, or tears in the original seats. Still retains the factory radio. This car was unmolested. The paint shows very well, but it is 30 years old. It has nicks and light imperfection here or there. I consider it a beautiful original survivor but not flawless showroom for those that are particular. The car drives excellent, I have driven it on a few 200 mile trips to Maine since freshening it up after being stored for nearly 10 years. Again it was stored climate controlled it's whole life. No leaks in the T Tops. If I had to pick it apart or make it even cleaner than it already shows I would do a carpet to freshen it up due to a stain under the passenger seat and repaint the front bumper be it has a few stress cracks. I chose to leave it in an original survivor condition. I love original stuff, but that would be up to you.come take a look or test drive, it's like stepping into a time capsule into my youth. It drives like they did when I had a new one in 87. Call or text and questions or picture requests. 978 894 6992 JoeOn Jul-05-16 at 20:29:21 PDT, seller added the following information:
Some have asked it it has northern rust. The vehicle was always stored in a heated garage and taken off the road in the fall around September and put back on the road around april given that years conditions. This is why the cars body is in such nice original condition with0 minimal if any rust. I had a GM bodyshop employee of over30 years experience look at it when I bought it to verify condition and original paint because I can be fussy. He assured me that all the decals and paint and body lines appear to him to be original and untouched. The floors are all rust free, the rockers, doors, fenders, quarters, wheel wells again all rust free. I have some good pictures of the rear tub by the exhaust which you can view the pinchwelds behind the bumper. There are also pictures of the bottom of each door showing factory seam sealer and paint. The pictures of the rocker panels show the pinch weld area free of any rust. The car on top of being never run in the winter, had dealer installed "zeibart" undercoating.
This is truly a nice opportunity to own a beautiful example third generation Camaro. The color alone was only made three years and was not high in production. 1985 is the first year of the IROC, and the L69 engine is highly desirable and low in production. Combine the color, year, and engine and in my opinion its a very hard car to find in any condition.
