Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 1955 Description
1955 Chevy 210 2 Door PostFuel Injected 383 Crate Engine Tremec 5 speed 4 Linked 9" Air Ride Technology Air RideOver 225k Invested (With Receipts)Up for sale is a gorgeous one of a kind 1955 Chevy 210 two door post sedan. This is a customized beauty and really needs to be seen to be appreciated. This car has over 225k invested and as you can see has a LOT of custom touches that cannot simply be bought out of Classic Chevy Ecklers etc. From the custom air cleaner/firewall to the radiator area to the center console you can rest assured you will never park next to another car like it at a car show. This car is a Restomod which means it has been given a lot of modern touches such as Air Conditioning Power windows/Locks (with remote key fob since the lock cylinders have all been shaved) Power leather seats Hidden CD Player with 6 speaker sound system Street and Performance Electronic Fuel Injection and the list goes on. This car was professionally built by Top End Performance in Lincoln Nebraska. This high quality build has won multiple Good Guys Builder's Choice awards (Columbus OH Loveland CO Kansas City KS Des Moines IA) been invited to Blackie's Fresno Autorama and has also won Street Rod National's Street Machine Grand Champion 3 years back to back to back. Here is a Overview of the car tho I am sure I will be missing some things. This car has exactly 835 miles on the build. Almost every part you see listed was bought brand new and has 835 miles on it with exception of the 9" rearend housing and the modified Mark VIII seats.Engine - The engine was a new ZZ383 GM Crate motor topped with Street and Performance EFI. The entire EFI intake system was sent out to be chromed. The air cleaner and firewall setup you see is completely custom and is a result of hours of labor and $9000 alone. The valve covers are actually air actuated and boltless if you look closely (one of the many small touches). A large amount of care was taken to make sure than the only connection you visualize from the engine to the engine bay is the upper radiator hose. Not a wire a heater hose an a/c line etc is left to clutter the engine bay they have all been very carefully hidden. The firewall design and some of the custom covers help ensure that. The accessory system is a Billet Concept One Aluminum setup that was custom chromed. The headers are modified and ceramic coated Doug's Headers (modified for the air ride). The rest of the exhaust is a true dual 3" stainless system with Magnaflow stainless mufflers exiting under the rear bumper. The exhaust has been custom routed thru the frame and under the body in such a manner as to attain the lowered stance available with the air ride. The radiator is a polished aluminum Griffin with custom covers and overflow tanks. Also under the hood you can see the chromed Wilwood master cylinder/booster.Another custom touch you will notice throughout the car under the hood and elsewhere if there is a bolt head or washer shown they are polished allen head staineless steel with custom machined and polished washers. You will see this for the hood hinges the under the trunk lid/hinges and many other places. This is just another small detail that setups this car apart from the rest. Transmission/Rearend- The Transmission was a brand new Tremec 5 speed with Tremec short throw shifter. It has a McLeod dual friction Street Twin clutch/flywheel setup in front of it. It is topped off by a custom shifter stick that utilizes the same wire mesh as the air cleaner and a Hurst 5 speed white knob. The driveshaft is a custom 3" Chromoly painted to match the car. The rearend is a 3.50 ratio Positraction Ford 9" shortened and 4 Linked with Moser Axles. Brakes /Wheels - There are 4 piston Wilwood brake calipers & 12.25" rotors at all 4 corners of the car. Master cylinder is a chromed wilwood under the hood. The Wheels are custom chromed Chip Foose wheels 17" up front and 19" at the rear. Continental 295/30/19" at the rear and 215/50/17 up front. Air Ride / Frame - The air ide at all 4 corners is Air Ride Technologies. The 4 air ride canisters are all hooked to a central air tank and pump which is located behind a hidden compartment behind the rear seat (which is also where the batteries are relocated to). The air ride is ran with a remote key fob or with a pad that has been custom fitted into the console. It has 3 preset settings (to the ground drive height and 90% raised height for loading onto a trailer). The frame has been notched (and reinforced) at the rear of the car to allow the rearend to travel up into it high enough to allow the frame to sit as close to the ground as possible (view the photos).Interior- The interior was custom finished by Doug's Auto Upholstery in Scottsbluff Nebraska. There is over $18k in just the upholstery work alone. The front bucket seats are Lincoln Mark VIII seats the have modified (shortened). The rear seat is completely custom built by Doug's. Also custom built by Doug's are the door panels rear upper seat filler panel rear seat side filler panals the carpeting the under dash filler panel shifter boot and Headliner. Like a lot of other touches on the car console is a COMPLETELY HAND BUILT custom fiberglass piece with billet aluminum inlays (which house the window switches locks and air ride controls). The cd player sits behind the Chevrolet plaque in the center of the dash you removed the custom built hidden face by pulling out on the selector knob to the right of the cluster. The dash is a Classic Instruments white faced analog cluster. The steering column is a modified billet Ididit. The Steering wheel is a billet piece that was leather wrapped by Doug's with the same leather throughout the car. Wiring in the doors is done via touch contacts in order to elminate ugly wires or rubber boots in the door jams. The trunk was also custom finished by Doug's. It has a false rear wall that hinges down and allows access of the air ride equipment and the batteries. There is also a compartment door in the floor of the trunk which holes an air hose that allows you to fill the tires in case of emergency. Beneath that compartment are two battery post terminals which stick out below the body and are capped. These posts allow you to charge/jumpstart the car in the event of a dead battery that keeps you from opening the trunk. Exterior Body/Trim - All of the panels have been gapped to the exact same width and the car has been PERFECTLY straightened. There is $36000 invested in just panel gapping and body work alone. All new side glass window and rear glass were installed. The stainless trim was sent off and professionally straightened and polished. Door locks and trunk hardware were removed. The locks are remote activated and the truck is remote air actuated. The bumpers have custom modified bumper guards that were reduced in size and custom fitted to bumpers for a cleaner than factory look. There is a Rocky Point gas filler door that is remote activated it hides the gas tank filler behind the driver's rear tail light. The paint is are completely custom modified one of a kind tan and creme colors. The car spent over 3 weeks in the paint booth alone. All of the colors match from panel to panel perfectly. The custom and unique colors of the car attract A LOT of attention at car shows due to the fact that it is not your typical red/white or silver 55. Indoor Display- Included with the car is a custom indoor car display which is Racetech black red and gray checkered flooring. The "fencing" around it is custom built and chromed. The stands for the pipe are made to mimic the gear shifter and utilize the same meshing that is used in the air cleaner and the gear shifter of the car. There is also a tripod stand to place a spec sign on that is custom made to match the gear shifter and pipe stands. All chromed stands with stainless polished piping. Overview - As you can see the are a lot of very high dollar parts in this build. There has also been a lot of thought put into the presentation of the car and the continuity of everything involved in the design. A lot of custom touches some significant and some that it takes a good eye to notice (like the valve covers for example). There are a lot of 55s on the market but one thing I can guarantee you will never pull up next to another one like it at a car show. I have included the limit of ebay's allowable pictures. If you are a seriously interested buyer I have many more I can send. I can also take pictures as requested by an interested party (though you may have to allow me some time to get to it as its under a car cover and a sealed plastic bag in climate controlled storage as it has been stored since completion).Shipping/Terms - Shipping will be at the buyers expense and to be set up BY THE BUYER. The car is sold as is where is. I strongly urge the buyer to make the trip here to see the car in person. I would only expect someone making a purchase of this size/nature to want to see it in person for themselves. Car will not leave my possession until a certified cashier's check has been cleared and verified by my bank. At this time i am NOT interested in any trades cash only.
