Chevrolet Corvette 1963 Description
You are viewing my 1963 corvette conv. It is a 327, 300hp., with a two speed power glide trans. It is not a number marching car, the original 327 was replaced at some point with another 327. The block vin. # is R848 which might indicate it was a dealer supplied warranty repair? The head casting # 3782461 is correct for a 327. The intake manifold casting # is 3799348, with a correct date code of D173. It has the original power steering and has had an original type power brake system installed. I have owned this car for seven years, and purchased it from an older lady from Washington state, who had owned it for twenty years. She stated that her husband bought the car for her, but they drove it very little. She sold it after her husband passed away. It is my opinion that for at least the last 25 years the car has been a garage queen, driven very little. It is also my opinion that the car went through some level of restoration approx. 25 yrs. age, before the previous owner purchased it. The car was originally silver, and now you can see, it is the original corvette red.Mechanically the car has been maintained and serviced to the highest level. It has had a recent major tune up, with the AFB carb. Being rebuilt to original specs. The radiator, trans. And charging system have all been serviced. The head lights operate as designed with new electrical switches installed. The paint, body, and interior are in excellent condition. The paint has a few small chips, which you would expect from a driver. The body and door gaps are excellent, there are no fracture or signs of stress anywhere. The doors and hood close as new, very solid and correct. The interior is almost as new. There are no tears or cracks, the dash and gauges are excellent. It has its original "Delco" am/fm radio, which works fine. The conv. Top is older, but is in very good condition and operates as it was designed. The odometer shows 10385, it has obviously rolled over at least once. By any ones standard, this car would be considered an excellent example of a classic corvette, overall it is beautiful and a joy to drive. The car also comes with a high end custom car cover.
