It's got a 350 under the hood that runs good and the transmission shifts smoothly and is strong. It's a 3 owner truck, and is very clean compared to most. The first owner was my Dad's next door neighbor growing up, and my dad was the second owner. I have literally been turning wrenches on this truck since I was 14, so I know it inside and out. She's got good sheet metal, a clean never smoked in interior, and has never skipped an oil change. The paint looks mostly good, but is not perfect. There are some areas where the clear coat is failing on the front of the truck, and there are some chips along the bottom of the fenders.
It is a dual exhaust truck, but the tailpipes need to be replaced from the glass packs, back. The truck has A/C and all the components function correctly, but the system needs to be charged with freon. The odometer kinda self destructed when it tried to roll to 100k, so now it just spits out random numbers, but my well educated guess is that the truck has 150k miles on the chassis. It was originally a 305 Truck, but the first owner swapped in a 350 crate motor at around 75k miles, and at the same time he had the transmission rebuilt. So the Engine and Trans both have around 75k miles on them. The speedometer was not affected and works as it should.
Regarding the 4wd, the transfer case functions perfectly, but currently the front shaft is out of the truck. The truck was wrecked once on the front left, and a new front end was swapped in, but it had a different gear ratio than the original. At that time, we recovered all the gears from the original chunk, so that we could swap them into the new housing, but that day never came. So, while it is a 4wd truck, it's currently running as a 2wd. All the parts needed to restore the 4wd are in good condition and are included in the sale of the truck.
This vehicle has technically got a clean title, there are no liens, but the title was lost by the first owner. It is currently registered in the state of GA as a "non-titled" vehicle. Here in GA this is common for vehicles 1985 and older. I have attempted to have the tag office print me a title, but they would not and do not issue titles for vehicles from 1985 and older. The original owners manual and some of the original paperwork is still in the glove box. I just installed a brand new battery. There is a power inverter and CB radio installed under the dash on the transmission tunnel and CD changer installed behind the drivers seat. The truck also has a class 5 hitch, and a trailer brake module installed and working right.
In spite of me trying to list out all of the things that are wrong for the sake of full disclosure, I have relied on this truck for years, and she has never left me walking. I used her as a daily driver for a few years, but as of late my work doesn't require a truck, and she's been sitting in my driveway being bored for about 6 months, other than the occasional weekend duties. The main reason that I am selling her is because my wife and I are currently expecting twins and we need the money to put down on a larger family vehicle. This is a good truck that would make either an excellent restoration project, or a good daily driver for someone who loves good old rugged American trucks.
