Chevrolet Corvair 1965 Description
This is my 1965 Chevy Corvair 500 Sport Sedan. It's in GREAT shape and is very original. The 500 model has a bench seat and will carry 6 passengers. It has the95 hp air cooled six cylinder motor in the rear which runs great on regular gas. It has a Powerglide automatic transmission and is a blast to drive! I drive it at least a couple of times a week and regularly cruise at 70 mph on the highway. It starts runs handles and stops beautifully! The front end is tight as a drum.I purchased it last year from a Corvair mechanic in New Jersey. He purchased it from the original owner's estate in 2011 and used it as his daily driver. He replaced the fuel tank shocks brakes o-rings alternator and much more. He also repainted it its original Arctic White and re covered the interior with the FACTORY CORRECT (Clark's) Aqua upholstery! It also has nearly-new Michelin radial tires. The miles are believed to be original and is stated so on the Georgia title. Also it has the original AM radio but I've added stereo speakers in the dash with NO alterations to the car and an input so you can play music from your MP3 or stream your phone through the original radio! It's a great driver not a show car. The car and paint look great but there's a little bubbling at the bottom of the driver's fender and a little at the bottom of the right front door and right front wheel well. The trunk is solid but has a little surface rust and could use detailing. The floors and undercarriage are clean solid and rust-free.The original headliner has mildew stains and one of the 50 year old seams couldn't handle the wind at 70 mph. It needs to be replacedas does the plastic inside trim around the rear window and the cardboard side pieces used in back on the sedans. All are readily available from Clark's.Also 3 of the 4 original door panels look great but the driver's panel has wear at the bottom. It has developed a small oil drip. I haven't had it in the air since it started and am not sure where it's coming fromThe original 500 rubber floor mat is in exceptionally good shape! This car is loads of fun!I LOVE it so much I decided to buy a Corvair convertible so I have to let this one go.Overall it's a real solid original car that needs very little and gets a lot of attention.I've tried to be as thorough as I can with the description. Please ask me about anything I've forgotten. If you're local and would like to see the car please let me know. Also until it is sold I'm still driving the car around town so mileage may be slightly higher. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the sale early if sold.Vehicle pickup or shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.$1000 Paypal deposit is required within 48 hours.Full payment by money order/cashier's check is due within 7 days.
