Chevrolet Nova 1973 Description
I purchased this vehicle as a project in 2000 and finally got done with a ground-up restoration in 2005. I haven't driven it much since, only 4560 miles. It's a factory '73 Nova Custom Hatchback with power steering, power disc front brakes, tilt wheel, factory radio-delete dash, bucket seats, 350, 4 speed, 3.42 limited slip differential.
The body was completed stripped to bare metal and got a new tail light panel, left rear inner wheel housing, and outer wheelwells on both sides. It didn't need full quarter panels. At that time, I purchased new steel fenders and a Glastek 5" bolt on cowl induction hood. The colors are Ford Medium Blue with Ford Silver Frost stripes. It's a Dupont base coat clear coat paint job. All work was professionally done. The factory bumpers were rechromed.
The suspension was completely rebuilt with all Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings and subframe connectors were welded in. The rear chassis has Competition Engineering ladder bars along with a full-floating rear end. The rear end was rebuilt with an Auburn Gear Pro differential and 3.42 Richmond gears. The wheels are Weld Draglites, 15X7 in the front, 15X8 in the rear with 205/60/15 tires up front and 255/60/15 tires in the rear.
The engine is a 350ci with 9.5 compression, 2.02 valve aluminum heads with 1:6 roller rockers, Comp Cams 292H cam, Edelbrock intake and 600cfm electric choke vacuum secondary carb. The ignition is all MSD with a 6AL box, Pro Billet Distributor, and SuperComp wires. The headers are Hedman and go straight into header mufflers with turndowns. The Fidanza aluminum flywheel mounts to a completely rebuilt Muncie M20 transmission with a Hurst shifter. The linkage for the clutch pedal is rod-end fully adjustable, so there's no slop or play in the clutch pedal.
The factory bucket seat interior got new door panels, carpet, dash pad, seat foam, seat covers, headliner, and AutoMeter gauges. It's simple but clean. The factory tilt wheel and radio-delete dash helps with the simplicity of it all.
It comes with the original owner's manual and almost $35,000 in receipts I've kept over the years. It's a blast to drive and turns lots of heads! Any imperfections are shown in pics. I'm not interested in any trades.
