Chevrolet Silverado 1500 1986 Description

Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to view my 1986 Silverado. I love this truck and it has beenaround my area for as long as I canremember. It is factory Apple Red with Deluxe Burgundy interior. This is an amazing, restored, 1986 that literally needs nothing, but a new driver. Going all the way back to the original owner, this truck has never been in anaccident, nor has it ever had any rust in it at all. It haseven kept in a garage mostly all of its life and only driven on the weekends. I bought the truck from who claimed to be the second owner of the truck, but Autocheck shows 5 owners. The number 4 and 5 owners on theauto check report aredefinitely me because I retitled it myself. Anyways, I do believe that I am the third owner of the truck. Iwill do my very best todescribe the truck from end to end, so please take the time to look at all of thepictures and read all of the descriptions of eachsection.
Exterior
The exterior in itself is ananomaly. Keep in mind that this is a 30 year old truck that I am referring to. With that said, it only has just over 60,000 original miles.....garage kept and noaccidents in its entire lifetime which has taken place right here in the north east corner of Mississippi. No, not in southern Mississippi where flooding has taken place. Booneville, where the truck has spent the majority of its life is about 30 miles south of the Tennesseeborder and 20 miles west of the Alabama border, so this truck has never been exposed to any form of bad climate. Upon first glance, you'll notice how beautiful the paint is. This truck has anexcellent paint job on itand its only a couple of years old. The paint job is actually phenomenal. You literally cannot tell that itisn't factory paint......other than the fact that it looks like new. There are no runs, no dimples, no dings, no flaws, or any other issues in the paint. Everyone who sees it compliments it. Another bigsurprise is that this truck neverjammed out when repainted, so all of the red paint that yousee inside the doors, around the vin sticker, etc is all original factory paint. That attests to just how well this truck was taken care of. That paint in those areas is just as bright and pretty as the exterior. The hood, the fenders, the rockers, the cab, the bed, the bedsides, the tailgate, and underneath the truck are all incredible and second to none. The only thing thatisn't 100% factory on this truck is the radioantenna on the drivers side fender. The previous owner said the original antenna in the glasswouldn't pick up anything.

Interior
Inside this truck looks like new and even better in person than in the pics. I had to do a little to theinterior to get it up to par with my liking. There were a few cracks in the original dash, so I ordered a brand new full replacement vinyl dash (not a cheap urethane one). The fit and fitment isexcellent and it looks great in there. I also ordered a new seatcover and carpet. The carpet was nice but faded and the seat cover had a small hole on the drivers side edge. I felt that it would all look nicer and more appealing if I just replaced both of them. I replaced both window regulator motors and lubed the mechanisms within, so the power windows work perfectly.....which is a rareoccurrence with these trucks. The power doorlocks work perfectly as the should. The sliding back glass is wonderful on nice days and it just adds a bit ofsportiness to the truck. The door panels are super nice and are original. The head liner is nice and original along with the instrumentgauges/cluster. This truck has dual tanks and both are controlled by the switch on the lower portion of the dash. Theinterior is in fantasticcondition and it is sure to make any buyer happy.

Underneath
Underneath, you'll find exactly what makes this truck so rare andspecial. Just look at thoseoriginal bed floor panels, the cab corners that are gorgeous and perfect, those brand new suspension components (Gabriel Pro shocks all around), brand new brakes all around, and rust free, beautiful rails/frame. I have never seen a truck this age that looks anywhere close to this nice underneath. This truck is an absolute time capsule and a thing of beauty to behold. Once its on a lift and you see it for the first time underneath in person, you'll be blown away by how nice it actually is. There is no way that you'll be disappointed in this truck.
Engine/Drivetrain
This 5.0L V8 powered truck hasplenty of power for its size. The enginewas gonethrough and gaskets/seals were replaced during the body refresh portion of its life. The brand new A/C kit including the compressor, dryer, orifice tube, etc works flawlessly and will literally freeze you out of the truck. The brand new alternator works exactly as it should and keeps everythingrunning, so the brand new AC DELCO battery can rest a bit, and all of the brandnew belts work great without squeaking. The transmission was special ordered with the 3 speed TH350 transmission that has been tried and true for so many years. The original owner wanted a transmission that had been out for a long time and one that he was familiar with. The 5.0L paired to a TH350 is a great combination. Just look at how nice the drivetrain is. You can tell that its been very well taken care of.

Now that you've seen my truck, I hope that you can appreciate just how nice she is. Iwouldn't be afraid to drive this Silverado anywhere. Of course, it's being sold as-is, where is, with no warranty present or implied. I love my truck and I'm sure you will too. I hope she finds a good home and I look forward to working with you to do so. Please feel free to make a reasonable offer.
