This Nova was the lucky recipient of an intense restoration. With fresh 2-Stage Paint, Rebuilt Engine, Rebuilt Transmission, Rebuilt Suspension, Fresh Interior Upholstery all on a solid Southwest body it is a great opportunity for a quality car at a fraction of the cost of building it!
This Nova simply GLOWS! The paint is a base/clear on solid original panels. The gaps and lines are truly exceptional by X-body standards. This one is easily nice enough for the weekend show n shines and cruises. During the body restoration the door, hood & trunk hinges were all rebuilt. The body was stripped and covered in Nason Epoxy Primer. The Dupont paint was matched to the original Ascot Blue and really pops with the clear. The car was then wet sanded & polished to a mirror finish.
Inside the original bench seat was tossed and a pair of late model bucket seats added. The rear seat was upholstered to match. The desert was not kind to the original vinyl so a new OPG dash cover was installed along with new door panels, arm rests, carpet & headliner. A factory Nova center console and shifter were added. The shifter works nicely with the overdrive transmission and has the ‘T’ bar reverse lock out. The interior is very comfortable and classy.
Under the hood the 350 is a marine motor that was rebuilt using 6” rods, King Bearing, Vortec Heads, Factory Chevrolet ‘Hot’ Roller Cam, Polished Intake Manifold and an electronic ignition system. The engine breathes through Headman Headers and a 2 ½” Exhaust system with Jeg’s Mufflers. The engine sounds incredible and has no issues lighting up the rear tires.
The Overdrive Automatic Transmission was rebuilt by Performance Transmission and uses 5-Gear Planetary and a Hydraulic Overdrive Lock-Up. This transmission reliably handles all the horsepower and gives you excellent cruising capabilities thanks to the overdrive.
Out back the 10-Bolt differential has been filled with an Auburn Gear Posi-Traction Unit and 3.73 Gearing. The axles were upgraded to Summit Racing Axles and a Trans Dapt differential cover.
The suspension & braking systems were heavily upgraded with CCP Front Disc Brakes, Energy Suspension bushings, New Front Coil Springs, KYB Front Shocks, Moroso Rear Shocks, Competition Engineering Sub-Frame Connectors, Rear Mono Leaf Springs & Anti-Hop Bars. This car steering incredibly easy and handles quite well on the road. This combination is comfortable on the street or the track.
The rolling stock consists of 15” Rally Wheels wrapped in Performance Radials. The tires work well and fit nicely with no rubbing.
With all of this recent restoration work completed, you get to enjoy the fruits of someone else’s labor without all of the associated costs of a long restoration, like say your marriage or your index finger. So be nice to yourself! Cruise this summer with your wife and all of your digits.
