Paint: Paint is very nice and shiny, consistent with being garage kept and waxed all its life. Paint is all original except that the RR 1/4 panel was painted before the car was twelve years old while the original owner had it due to a heavy scratch. Other: Lower beltline trim is extremely nice - fake chrome is not all peeling like most of these. All glass is good - no cracks or chips. All rear glass is tinted 20% and tint is excellent. Door pillars were covered with a black vinyl laminate such as all 1991 models were. Undercarriage is very nice with only minor surface rust - see the pics. Underhood sheet metal has no rust, tailgate sill and door jambs are solid as seen in pics, except for minor rust at bottom of driver's B pillar. Factory Caprice aluminum wheels are in great shape. INTERIOR: Interior of the car is very nice. Dash has no cracks, carpets are beautiful and have been covered since new, deluxe cloth seating areas are in great shape, cargo deck carpet in great shape as it too was covered since new, third seat like new, headliner is very nice with no sagging or fading, steering wheel is in nice shape with minimal dye wear, door panels are nice with no cracks or fading. No smoke or pet odors. Extremely nice interior overall. ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work (lights, horn, wipers, etc.) ALL power options work reliably, including power windows, power locks, power driver's & passenger seat, hot heat and cold A/C with recent comperssor, tilt, cruise, Chevrolet Bose am/fm stereo/CD player, power antenna, rear window release, rear wiper, auto-dim rearview mirror, intermittent wipers, and rear defroster, cornering lamps, and keyless entry with two sets of keys, GM VATS/PassKey system programmed out of PCM, which has a Bryan Herter perfomance tune for regular fuel. DRIVEABILITY: Drives out nicely. Steering is tight, alignment is good, suspension is tight, rear auto-level works as intended. Brakes work well with and fronts are new. Tires are General Altimax RT 235/70/15 with about 70% tread remaining. Solid, quiet exhaust with no leaks. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should.) No complaints - drive anywhere. HISTORY: This car was bought as a one-owner, accident-free vehicle in Pennsylvania in 2007 after it was declared a total loss due to the blower-motor overheating and melting the dash pad and the wiring both inboard of the RH firewall bulkhead gang connector, and outboard on the engine side. The car-fax bears this out as one can see on the car-fax - parts requested for repair: Dash Assembly. Due to costs, the original owners insurance company refused to repair, and what we did, with the help of a 1995 caprice wagon donor vehicle, in 2007, was replace the blower motor, the entire dash wiring harness, and the entire underhood wiring harness, and in the process, the car got the 1995 ABS unit underhood, which is an upgrade. The car was then safety inspected by New York State, where we performed the work, and issued a Salvage Rebuilt Title and registered in Florida. The car then went into service as an extra family car within a family who has been, and remains, owners of multiple B-body wagons, some stock, some heavily modified with T56 manual transmissions, even one purchased new in 1996 that has only clocked 27,000 miles. This particular car was issued a Florida title, and when it was transferred between husband and wife - a New Jersey title, which as it turned out, is clean, with no salvage designation anymore, but the full history is nevertheless disclosed here. Bottom line: buyer will receive clean New Jersey title from the second owner. Despite the carfax history and this vehicle has been in the hands of its second family owners since its electrical damage was repaired ten years ago, and there has not been even one issue of an electrical nature or otherwise since, so in this case, the salvage history is just that: history. The car has been driven, serviced, and maintained at the highest level by people who are experts on these cars. To this day, the car has never been in any kind of accident.
